Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
That favors our bus except ours is International and a shorty '24ft' . We painted ours fleet white a couple years ago . Looks like a prison bus so nobody messes with us, lol.
We were going to just use it for base coat then we thought why customize and look like we got something somebody might want to take [ its begining to be madmax out there now ] , so we just left it white .

Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
Boy, kids do have the craziest ideas, don't they? My 15 year-old was the one who came up with our bus idea, after looking at several over-priced enclosed trailers for our bikes. And then, you have nowhere to sleep. When I found out how cheap it was to get a bus, that became my priority. Am currently converting an '85 GMC 65 pax bus to a toy hauler/RV. I don't know what your plan is for the back, but we are going to put Herculiner down from the wheel wells all the way to the back door. When the bikes are out, we will have fold down bunks for our sleeping area back there. Welcome, and keep the pictures coming - I will be watching for what you come up with next!

Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
After looking at Double Duces bus,I think I'll take the rub rails off the side of the bus.I have plenty of paint left, and it needs a second coat.

Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
I like how you used the interior panels to cover the windows, very economical solution.
I wonder if high power earth magnets could be used to attach the panels, to make them like removable shutters....
Anyway nice job!

Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
...Can you get away with putting a prison's name down the sides? Nobody would go near it then.

Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
LOL put a prison name on the side and then park it out in the woods and start a timer to see how long it takes the sherrifs dept to show up with reports of a prison bus ditched in the woods. I forsee cops all over the place looking for escaped prisoners riding dirt bikes!! lol
could be fun!

Re: New member Bus/Toy Hauler build
I highly suggest against putting a prison name on the side... You wont want the bill for all those officers out around you bus...

It was just a joke.I am not putting the name of a prison on the side.
Now on to a serious question:I have installed the power inverter in my bus.I have the converter and wiring from the camper I plan on installing, and I hope to install the generator this weekend.
I have read alot on wiring this stuff up,and have became very confused.
Could someone be so kind to send me in the right direction,or draw a simple diagram that's easy for a idiot to follow?

Thank You!
I did use Luan on the interior.I have exactly 48" from the ledge at the bottom of the outboard seat mount to the center of the half round closeout trim on top.
The metal I covered the window openings WAS the interior panels below the windows. It was the exact same height as the windows!
I reused the same screws.I just held the metal up and transfered the holes into the pillars between the window openings.
I then sealed all the gaps with a 50yr.outdoor,paintable calking. In the end,I have less than $10.00 for the calking.
Flat metal would have looked better to me,but for the cost of free,I can live with it.

Maybe he’ll be back...
He’s serving 10 to 12, perhaps?

Kind of makes you wonder what happened? I've seen quite a number of build threads that seem to be making good progress and then just go silent.
