And ya air bags... Way cool. I have clearance in the wells already (cant fit head though.... Too big) and then the bags kick in give that much more and then I can fit

Mmmmm... air bags.... jealous!
Yeah, I haven't even started a build thread. Actually I haven't done much to this bus either. It has been impressed on my mind that I really really need insulation. This many windows really sucks the heat up during the cold spells and I'm not sure the OEM insulation is effective at all. I'll test that theory when I get all the panels and insulation out, right before I insulate the begeebees out this thing.

Jeez Louise that sounds scary! Tell us that you're not really trusting your air bags to not crush your head or chop it off. Get a jack; you'll find uses for it.

I have been told I have a hard head so I should be good...... I only checked under there when I bought the bus. Never stuck my head in to far just enough I could see the wells good. Any work I need to do in there it will be raised then blocked. I try to be as safe as I can.

I used the 1" tin foil foam. That made a big difference from what was in there. Shrunk down the # of windows and Blocked out 8 and will insulate those as well.

these busses have Lots of heaters.. at least mine does. . 6 heaters i think...

im not sure why people dont just leave their Bus heaters intact and then make a small boiler to heat the loops when the bus isnt being driven... even can make a small wood fired boiler so theres no big ole smoky wood stove inside... ..

what are air bags on a bus?

After hearing from some full timers in a school bus, I almost think its a necessity.

I tell you what bringing the bus home was a completely different ride then what I remember a bus as. Very smooth. I'm glade I have them. Didn't realize they even put them on busses. So bonus for me.

That's interesting about your model of bus. My door is air, as are the brakes. This is a pretty small bus to have air brakes. I've had a number of buses with hydraulic brakes.
I'm curious to know your tire size. There are several models of this bus that look the same, but some have wheel wells on the interior floor and some don't. It seems the buses with 19.5" tires are flat floors while the same bus with 22.5" tires has four wheel wells to deal with during the build.
I am kind of a minimalist, but I've also been caught needing a bathroom when there is none. I'm coming around slowly.
Do ALL buses have this external lock situation? this is something I have been wondering because if my bus has one I CAN NOT find it!!??

That's a good question. I'm going to assume the actual locking front door is from the chassis producer because the ignition key also fits the door. No, this is my first bus with a locking front door. Before I was using two large eye bolts that I could lock with a chain from outside to keep the two doors locked.
I'm thinking your experiencing 20/20 hindsight right about now, not unlike the rest of us. There is always something better that would be an advantage. In my case locking doors are pretty cool. With deadbolts on the two rear doors, allowing key entry, I'll feel pretty secure until someone comes through my top hatch.

Zo, vee hav disgust einsfhart and ausfhart of zee busss.

right now the bus is basically empty no weight really to speak of. That said went out today fired the beast up just to blow out any bugs. Airbags kicked in. Fully aired up it gives me about 8" from tire to fender. Didn't measure inside the well but probably have about an acre or 2. It has shocks as well and what's cool is if the bags blow out the shocks will help but I still have tire clearance until I can get to a safe spot to stop if needed.
