Our American School Bus in Sheffield, England.

We have imported a 39ft Ford B700 (with Thomas body) into England and have converted it into an RV/Mobile Office. There are a few pictures at http://www.yellowbusevents.co.uk/ame...school_bus.php

There are more pictures at http://www.skoolie.net/gallery2/v/Skoolies/?g2_page=13 (or just go to bottom of page 13 on the gallery pages).

We have kept the outside as original as possible as this is a real novelty in England. Scroll down this post to see floorplan and more pictures.

Re: Our American School Bus in Sheffield, England.

Here is a picture of our bus being used in 2007 by 20th Century Fox to promote the Simpsons DVD (in England). We had a sound system fitted to the underside of the bus which played the Simpsons theme tune on a loop... for eight hours a day for 14 days! I still twitch every time I hear that music on TV.

As requested, here is a picture of the bedroom. It is a high full size double bed with a large storage space underneath which can also be accessed from the rear door of the bus.

Re: Our American School Bus in Sheffield, England.

They are LED's. They are from IKEA and run on 12v. They come as roumd discs and then I gor a friend to mount them on a piece of aluminium with rounded corners. They were then placed where the original bus lights were using the original wiring. We are about to fit more 12v LED lamps to the sides (internally) and there are also mains (240v here) lights which only work of course when we have hook up or running our small external generator.

Re: Our American School Bus in Sheffield, England.

We use the bus to promote our own events and festivals (see http://www.yellowbusevents.co.uk) and also hire it out for promtions such as Simpsons & Disney. These external clients have brought some good revenue, but it did cost a lot to bring the bus over and do the conversion. I have put in hunderds of hours but have loved the project and am really pleased with the bus. We are now getting into the music festival business wth it and it was used as an interview backdrop and lounge at V Festival last year (a music festival for over 100,000 people). See pictures below from Disney work and V Festival where The Magic Numbers are being interviewed.

Just got hold of this picture. It is in central London last Nov. That is Nelsons Column in the background, just a short walk from Buckingham Palace.

Here is our bus being used as a 'backdrop' and green room at one of our festivals of street entertainment. The woman on the uniclyle lives in Hawaii now but this was in Sheffield, England.
