Our bus

My girlfriend and I are converting a 97 bluebird we won on an auction this January. I have been getting invaluable help from these forums and figured I'd post a few pictures.

Gave these away for free on CL if they took them all

Looks like a salvaged road tractor fuel tank and brackets.

The grey tank is a fuel tank from a semi truck. 110 gal I think. The black underlayment is roofing felt.

Man I wish I had room for a wood fired stove. Not even room left for one of the tiny-toy ones that have to be fed hourly. Too bad the pellet stoves are so danged expensive.

On the plus side....
You can survive the winter with 4 candles & a cigarette lighter!

Yes I drove from Renton WA to Kalamazoo MI in 3 days. Been back since January. I'm in Kzoo if you're ever on the west side of the state. I am currently working as much as possible cuz it's cold out and OT is approved. Just a quick note about my lifestyle. I work for a big corporate cell phone company that im not super fond of. A few years ago I was in a financial hole and was able to make good money at the job so I took it. I was able to make my way out of the hole and with the extra money I'm making now I am trying to have a few years of freedom traveling and living out of a bus. Sept 9th of 2017 I will be vested with my 401k so I'm not taking off til then. I will work more on the bus when it warms up this spring but whatever I don't finish I will be able to crank out when I quit my job

Sounds like a great plan. If you want to see a TC2000 "mostly" converted stop in to Birch Run (between Flint and Saginaw) and I can show your ours. We hope to use it for the first time this spring.

Wood stove installed. 3 ft removable extension on top. Double wall black pipe goes up to cathedral box with 18in class a pipe and the dektite rubber flashing as recommended by someone on the forum. Had a nice toasty fire.

I am envious. Its too cold here in MI to work on the bus this weekend. I too was unable to save the space for a woodstove. I did get the roof hatch replacement bolted on last weekend though. It is a Lewmar 70 marine ocean hatch. As soon as it warms up a little I'll install the inside screen and shade.
