Our New Home

Well heres our Skoolie project, we named it "Ya'll Betchya" its a 95 ford b700/carpenter 5.9 cummins backed by an Allison trans... very happy to get hub pilot wheels on it, got an average of 9.5 mpg on the hwy, 7mpg when we flew in strips thru Missouri into Kansas... cruises nice at 65, 60mph best mpg, 75mph is a bit hairy nice to know its there ... gotta love the cummins... drove nice, needs an allighnment... We were discussing our lease coming up on our apartment, even discussed moving back to NC, a couple of 4 packs of cheladas I started talkin about of the old '67 bluebird chevy dad had, the trips we took to goosebury falls, mn and clear up to silver bay.... not fun in October tho.... in a bus, with no insulation.... not a good idea.... I think pop would've faired better if he had the internet... anyways... she got a wild hair, we scoured the net, found a 95 ford in Evansville indianna, made a call, talked him into holding it till our next 2 days off, (long 9 days) flew into Indiana, seller picked us up, gave me a lift to the post office to pick up the tool box, um tsa is a pain when you try to bring hammers, knives, screwdrivers.. you know "weopons of craft destruction" so to avoid a pain in the rump hello usps, and thank you... I don't even have to buy a new lighter, just throw it in the box was serviced and ready to go, it happened to be sitting at a Firetruck repair shop.... they were great... we landed 9:30 and by the time we left it was noon... they loaded us up with some oil, coolant a full set of new belts, and off to Kansas we went.... took some side trips, and shopped around, stopping and checking out the scenery and making sure nothing on the bus is falling off.... 700 miles ended up being 850 that was the point tho... made er home n the fun begins

That is an often asked question.

Go to Photobucket. Upload pics from folders on your computer. The best size for forums is 640X480 pixels. You should resize the pics that you want to post on the forum. You can do that by exporting your photos to another folder using Picasa program. You can adjust the size before you export them. There are other programs that also resize photos. Then you are ready to upload them from the folder that you put them in.

Once they are uploaded, put your cursor on the thumbnnails where there is a star looking thing on the upper right hand corner. A window pops up. Select "get links". Click on IMG Codes. It will flash "copied'

Now go to your thread and press paste. When you submit your post, the pic will show up.

Re: Our New Home

A shot of the cockpit underway... Thinking I want to replace that window.... a little bit was done to it when we got it, a slight version af a Dutchman camper, 2 rooftop units and a bunch of extention chords, we opted to rip it all out and start new.... as soon as the bucket catches up ill certainly share some pics of some work being done

Re: Our New Home

This is what we started with, reminded me so much of our Dutchman its scary... they had the back windows removed with vents in them, so the floor is hatched... so here comes the fun...
the rust in the back....

The culprit

Paint it

tarpaper

insulation lathing, then sheeting

Re: Our New Home

Got another section of floor done, the bus is also the storage for all the crap we have accumulated and going to find a hole to stuff it somewhere, along with the building supplies it tight.... haven't brought the camera in a couple of days, but its nothing new, rust all over, rusty nail projectiles, im sure ya'll know whats going on.. buts it coming along, I'll post-a-pic when the dust settles.... till then I will keep teaching the wife and I some more colorful language.... cant wait till this parts over...

As you are a bus owner, I find it almost blasphemous that you would suggest to buy an RV.

If I had had a Sticks and staples RV when I went into a ditch the other day, it would have been ruined.

Check out page 30 on my thread.
