Yeah, I know how that is.
Spent a couple more hours today with the heat gun, scraper, and whizzy wheel undoing the damage done by a tiny house crowd having a paint party and doing little to no prep.
I'd be glad to help yall out if you'd like a hand with that.

I heard it was cracked and peeling, definitely not something you would want to paint over.

Agreed, but-
You obviously haven't seen a lot of skoolies up close. Most people simply find it too much work to do a REAL paint job.

No way, you saw the pretty nice (not perfect) little paint job I did on our international. It would look ugly as hell to paint over this wrap, even if we just sanded over the flaking parts. We are doing this right. And I would Love your help Charlie! -Hillary

You did a pretty nice job on that Vista! I know you weren't gonna paint over the wrap. I was just talking some smack after working on a bus with a lot of paint over decals and adhesive.

Let me know when and where!

I will for sure. Not sure when it will be, still healing and ****. I think the wrap will be one of the last things we really tackle, get the inside liveable first. I think we are going to take the seats out today. -Hillary

I think we are going to use the metal out of some of them to block off the windows. We will rip one up to see what it looks in there, if not they are yours! -Hillary

Today's update!

We took out the rest of the seats and pulled up all the floor. The wood was surprisingly damp, the metal was surprisingly not that rusty. None of the wood came out intact, a lot of it was just crumbling in my hands. I knew it wasn't great because I felt soft spots in the floor before I bought it, I was always planning to rip everything out but I honestl expected to be spending a bunch of time adding metal.

I gave it a good sweeping and now I need to give it a scrub, run some rust converter on it, and lay down a coat of rustoleum. All things I forgot to get when I was in town yesterday! So I suppose I'll go for a drive.

I had planned to put the new subfloor down before I started on the walls and ceiling but with that much moisture I assume rain is getting in so I'll delay adding new wood until I've found and solved the leaks.

Pics follow!

You're making good progress.

Somehow I ended up doing the demolition during the hottest part of the summer.

the floor doesnt look too bad overall!! you going to keep the nice A/C system it has? with the floor up now you can actually see where the leaks are.. im going to bet the roof hatches leak into the ceiling and then run down either through the A/C line-heide or behind the window bezel trim..

I"m keeping it but modifying it... It's set up like an airplane, two vents at each row of seats. My plan is to replace it with a duct system and vents. My vision for this bus includes multiple areas separated by walls!

The water source isn't obvious yet... But I'll be sealing it before I put any wood down!

tire-wise I dont have any complaints about the Samsons on my red bus.. ive run 20k since i got the bus wsith no issues.. they were on there a couple years before i got the bus.. I did replace my 2 front ones when I thought they were my source of front end shimmy.. turns out i probably replaced to good tires.... the issue was king pins..

Probably will be, but not 100% sure yet.
I could always come with a trailer and truck.
