Haha...well thanks! I'm pretty excited right now, just ordered stainless hardware to mount my bumpers. I went with socket heads and 7/8" od washers. Thinkin it's gonna look pretty nice!

Re: Project "Brutus"

Sorry I'm being such a pic whore, lol... I promise I won't post any more until the door is painted, marker lights installed, and mirrors installed Bumper is just setting there as bolts aren't tightened down. I'm waiting for my stainless hardware.

Anywho, front bumper and stack!!

No such thing as too many pics! Is the stack double tubed so the paint won't burn off?

Very impressive. I thought about a stack but was worried about it coming out the side. I will follow and see if you're happy with it being on the side.

Re: Project "Brutus"

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! As for the stack, it is not double walled, and is under evaluation. I put the stack on when I first got the bus, and then painted it and welded the bull horn on a couple years ago. I primed it with high temp primer and I believe also painted it with high temp paint. It got beat up, as I recall, and I remember painting it over with rustoleum. It held up fine, just was looking a little beat up again.

I am currently evaluating it as a safety risk. At first, I thought I would for sure need a guard, but I am leaning towards not, now. Fully warmed up, with the idle bumped up, I can hold on to the stack, no problem. It's hot, but not uncomfortable. I have no doubt that after driving, especially if climbing a grade, the stack will be too hot to touch, possibly even burn. It cools off extremely fast, though. I am wondering if it partly has to do with how free flowing the exhaust is, and with it being vertical, heat escapes very quickly. I will try to get some actual temp readings for you guys, just need to find my temp gun!

Bumpers completely bolted with new hardware, door painted black, all lights came in the mail yesterday. Tonight may be the night I finish the exterior. Mirrors and lights are all thats left.

Re: Project "Brutus"

Still not quite done putting things back together on the exterior, but i took a break today and decided to do some woodworking. Overhead storage done in the bedroom. The door is off center, the cabinets are the same on both sides.

Looking good, I didn't notice the door was off center until you mentioned it.

I think my Wayne is the same bus just older. I've got that roof extension and two cargo compartments on both sides.

So, I hate chrome. And this is an example of why things take me longer sometimes. This happened this afternoon.

Thanks! I just sprayed them with black plastidip. Best stuff for covering chrome and you can just peel it off later if you want

Did you thin the plasti-dip and run it through a sprayer?
