Keep that bus running. I head over in the morning to button things up and get to finally drive the bus a whole eight miles to meet porkchopsandwiches. Yippee!

Appears that we can only view it when you are logged in or something? Getting error message to that effect. Still and all stay safe. Hated freeway overheads through Wyoming due to the wind when I was driving Motor homes.

Re: Project "Brutus"

Yup, it only works while logged in and if I lose signal it breaks the link I think :/

Anyway, we made it to Kalispell finally! The wind was horrible the first night (30mph) so we didn't make it near as far as we wanted to. Slept in a Walmart parking lot, nice and cozy in the bus with 20 mph winds and rain outside Made it to Missoula the next day and now Kalispell this morning. The trip has been amazing so far and the bus has done awesome. Seems surreal after working on it so long! We are going to spend a few days here with my sister and brother in law, and then heading to Redding. Fuel mileage has been rough. 6mpg vs the 9 I was hoping for -_- Life goes on

Hope your trip is going swell. Maybe your mileage will improve once the wind goes down. I went after my bus Friday and it was a windy torrential down pour north of Bismark.

Re: Project "Brutus"

William, not too bad! Way more noise coming from the firewall and doghouse. Eventually, it will get a muffler, though.

Gus, the funny thing is that Bismark is where I finally stopped driving Friday, lol... Yeah, lots of wind for sure, especially with a trailer :/

Everything looks great. I wasn't sold on silver but I like it with all the black now that it's finished. What kind of speed did you maintain?

It looks like your traveling with your mother in law!

Re: Project "Brutus"

Haha!! That's my parent's camper. We let them tag along

Bansil, it's been pulling fine. I had to disconnect the intercooler, because a boot was leaking, but I still can't get my temps over 1200°, which is awesome. I pulled Homestake Pass, which is 6300' and 6% (I think) at 45 in 3rd at 2500 rpm's. I can hold most grades in 4th at 2000, but if it drops below 2000, I'll downshift to 3rd and hit 2500. I did have one off freeway climb drop me to 2000 in 3rd at 35. The engine sounds amazing when it's cranking hard Trans temps don't budge from 170° and engine temp will range from 170° to 190°.

Yep, looking at everyone else's pics kept me going as well. If I can help keep someone else excited and focused, that's awesome!! My family's reactions to the bus have been awesome, especially my 15yr old daughter and my wife. They think it's incredible

Re: Project "Brutus"

Couple interior shots. The storage isn't perfect, but as you can see, not too much clutter. That will be one of the things that will make this enjoyable for my wife for extended amounts of time.
