Lol... That's actually my daughter. I referenced my wife in the pic, though, so I can see where that was confusing. I am 5' 10" and my head misses the A/C by about an inch

And thanks!! I do have a very beautiful family... 4 girls + my wife!! I am severely outnumbered

You may need to add a second bathroom to your bus!!!!

Re: Project "Brutus"

For real, lol... Although the trip we took with it this fall went surprisingly well. We'll see how it all pans out once I get the bathroom finished. One thing I did do was NOT put a sink in the bathroom. The kitchen sink is right outside the bathroom, and that will keep them from parking themselves in there

A third vote for no sink in the bathroom. My kitchen sink is less than thirty-six inches from the centerline of the shower. Why would I need two sinks less than three feet apart? And why would I want to run all that additional plumbing? Every connection is a possible leak. Screw that.

Re: Project "Brutus"

bus looks great,
I put a sink my bathroom, the extra plumbing was no big deal, this way someone can be getting washed up and brush teeth without being in the way, works good with the morning breakfast crowed

I'm planning on somehow setting up my shower so that it doubles as a sort of bathroom sink. I dunno man, I like to keep my bathroom germs out of my kitchen. But then I'm a little bit OCD like that.

Re: Project "Brutus"

a good bathroom set up is important, no matter what its in, if your out on road trip and the wife isn't comfortable with the set up, its going to be a long trip when I put my toilet in I used a porcelain one, and made sure there was elbow room(you know what I mean) and I put a full size bathroom sink. makes things more like home, its nice for those 2am pee times
sorry didn't mean to jack the thread

Re: Project "Brutus"

Hijack away!! I definitely plan on making the bathroom comfortable. My wife likes the setup and helped make the decision. She knew that having the sink in the bathroom would mean a girl was always in the bathroom. She also likes that i got a full size shower in there. That's the best part about building our buses, we get to fine tune them to specifically fit us. If i want a sink in the bathroom down the road, I'll make it work!

That is something else we discussed, the shower IS a water source, with a drain. It could easily be used to wash hands. There is also hand sanitizer, which my daughters are obsessed with anyway

Have been looking at making something like this.. although, I won't have the tank in my bathroom to do it with probably.http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...0,160,0,T_.jpg
Water runs in the sink when you flush giving you enough time to wash your hands. Thought it was kinda cute.

Re: Project "Brutus"

Jake,
I absolutely love your bus! I have seen a few others with the base silver paint scheme, and I liked it, but seeing yours...I love it! Seriously stealing that for our Skoolie, when we get to that point! I think you have done a fantastic job on your build. I just spent an embarrassingly long time reading your whole conversion thread. We are trying to learn as much as possible before we start ours, trying to be prepared as possible. We have 3 daughters and 2 sons...so I am really interested in seeing how others have set up sleeping quarters for everyone, and storage. Would you be able to post a picture tour of Brutus, now that he's "done"? (I know the nature of these things are that they are never really "done"!!)
Thank you so much for sharing your build with us on here!
~Sarah

Re: Project "Brutus"

I'm still here!! Just been busy with work and trying to get ready to move. I know I still owe you guys an interior photo tour, but I keep forgetting. I picked up 4 Michelin drive tires for $175 ea, and am still trying to find some good used steers. Not an easy feat! My main 2 bus projects have been installing a muffler, and repairing some floor ribs. Over the rear axle, a lot of the rubber isolators that go between the floor ribs and the frame rails were missing. It was metal on metal and they were getting crushed and cracking. I had to raise the bus body up off the frame, weld in reinforcement, and install new isolators.

Re: Project "Brutus"

Haha, thanks! It's pretty hectic right now...heading to California on June 7th!! Our trailer is about half packed and it is going to be pretty heavy. Should be fun to pull up and over mountain ranges
