Good to know

Can I spray some closed cell foam back there when the time comes to insulate?

Yes. It might take a few thin passes to get it filled up. Don't spray in too much on each pass.

Build is looking good! Very similar bus to mine except FE. The spray foam guys I used were able to foam behind it ok. Foam even went down behind the skirt since I guess there are air gaps.

yes in layers let it cure between layers. i shoved a piece of rigid foam down the wall just under the floor level to keep the foam from falling out the bottom. ebay has a good deal on foam packs if your doing it yourself. good luck

We broke down and rented a tool

Hopefully this will greatly speed up the removal of the rubber floor mat

I am considering mounting this tank under my couch inside the bus itself to prevent any issues with freezing. This would allow me to keep all my fresh water and plumbing inside the heated living spaces.

Thoughts?
Doesn't that placement interfere with the wheel wells?

Removed all the extra bus lights wiring and disabled the interlock system.

I cut every wire to the doors and windows and latches. Then I simply grounded the one wire which was grounded at the rear door switch. Bus starts right up no problems

The Saf-T-Liner interlock system is not connected to the ignition. You can remove it all.

The Owner Handbook suggests that you don't drive while the buzzer(s) are sounding.

Mine would not start without the rear door ground wire attached to ground

I followed this wire (B32 I think?) all the back to the ground at a relay in the electrical cabinet. Used a self taping screw to ground it to the frame. Started right up after that.

We have this idea stored away for the day we try to fit our family of 11 in a bus. It'd work as long as the bunk isn't over a wheel.

Seems this works good with the slide out in a typical RV but not in the bus. As it is we have double bunks planned over the wheel wells in the back and one triple bunk in front of the right wheel well.

They are a combined width of 60” (30” each) plus a few inches for frames. A slide out trundle bed would essentially take up the entire hallway to our master room

Here is our potential layout. The two side by sides are double bunks for our 4 girls and the forward bunk is a triple for our boys.

Yeah, the trundle would blocking the hallway would be an inconvenience for sure. Looks like you have a great layout that fits everyone. I'll be watching to see how your triple bunks work out as that is ideal for fitting in a bunch of kiddos. Do you anticipate that the kids will spend time hanging out in their bunks during the day? I could see mine doing that to read or just be in a space of their own and I'm not sure if the triple bunks would give them enough room to do that comfortably.

I highly doubt the triple bunk will be good for anything but sleeping. The boys are still young (6,7 and . If we had done a roof raise I think it would have been better.

I’m POSITIVE the older girls will use their bunks as a hangout place to sort of get away from everyone.

Just a short update

This weekend I hope to get all the roof projects done - hatches removed, skylights installed!

Stay tuned!

Does anyone have suggestions on getting the batting insulation out from behind the lower wall chair rail area?

It’s twisted around EVERY screw and doesn’t want to budge

Wanting to spray foam back there
