Reason For Taking Off Lights ?

I notice most take off lights when remodeling .Is there a reason for this ? Maybe one could be less fictures to short out ?

We left all ours on when we painted it . Figured it's that more security on the road .

The front red lights will be spares for the back, and I am toying with the idea of mounting some 12V aircraft landing lights up front, obviously for offroad use only. Let there be (lots of) light!

John.
