yeeeooww!!! question is who the heck called the city!! grrr...

They have a guy riding around in a lil ford ranger just looking for whatever. The city of Eustis is really lax and chill when it comes to this stuff, normally.
I had no problem agreeing with the guy on this one- my carport was collapsing at an exponential rate. Just sucks when I'm enjoying a nice tuesday morning smoke with some really good coffee and I'm interrupted with reality.
An acre of undeveloped land in the middle of nowhere is next on our list of major purchases. I think I hate code enforcement as much as I do taxes and insurance.
Good ole' destruction, gotta love it. Pretty much did all this with a regular claw hammer, a big piece of mechanical tubing (heavy and badass) for bashing stuff, a utility knife for the tar paper up top, and a sawzall. Circular saw got a bit scary so the neighbor came over and graciously loaned us his sawzall... AND... gave me 5 gallons of nearly new house paint!
nothing worse than a morning smoke getting interrupted.
Yeah it was a buzzkill for sure. Code enforcement are human paraquat.

Thanks, man. Today I get to borrow a truck and haul it just outside the city so I can burn it. They'd want a couple hundred bucks to dispose of it at the landfill.
Its gonna suck trying to get all the roofing nails out of my yard, but oh well.
I definitely cracked a few eggs yesterday!
So- I woke up to a big red notice left on my carport by the city code enforcement dept... basically its condemned due to damage from recent rains. Its been deteriorating since I bought this place in 2010. This is exactly the kind of thing thats always made me want the BUS LIFE.
SO- for now, instead of raising the roof on a bus, I've been knocking down the roof on my carport.
This pic was taken about halfway through the demo phase today.
I'm sure any of you who may be following or reading through this thread know by know I'm an enthusiastic demo kind of person. I love ripping stuff apart!
So before you probably didn't want to park anything under it for fear of the vehicle being damaged. Now it looks like you've opened up a nice bit of driveway to park cars, buses, etc.
Yeah, I'm gong to put a metal carport up where the shoddy "lean-to" was.
I did keep my grill and a couple mopeds n scooters under it, but I've made room in the actual garage section on the left.
