Heater boxes
Did you have to disconnect the heater boxes on the floor? We have two on our 96 international Genesis but dont want to screw with coolant lines and get too mucb aor in system, etc. However we want to remove them (at least temporarily) for floor installation. Thoughts?

I still have my rear heaters in. No real reason, I'm getting rid of all but one.
They're not connected to the floor, but are still looped into the cooling system for now.

Looks great!! Now, I'm second guessing my decision to keep mine stock!!
I could easily do a raise at this point in my build since almost all of the work I've done is below deck.
I'm working in Ohio right now so I'll have to get her here to do it though.

It really went way easier than I'd have ever thought.
A guy like you could do a REALLY AMAZING job!
But yeah, thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm totally stoked and extremely happy with the results.
Having said that- the first time doing anything new is a learning experience. I could do it even better now that I've done it!
There WILL be a "next time" some day!

What kind of material did you use to make the transition pieces? Some of it looks like galvanized. I've got a good bit of 17ga. galvanized I've been using on mine.
If I do decide to raise mine I was thinking of using something like 3/4" or 1" metal conduit pipe bent the same as the roof line and welded to the flange on the hat channel to make more of a radius transition at the top. A fillet at the bottom joint would soften the transition there.
I love way the metal lays in nicely and doesn't appear to be forced. Great job!!

We used three pieces cut from 18ga. Its not galvanized, it looked nice and shiny when we picked it up. But the stuff gets surface rust real quickly if it rains any. WHich it did a bit.
In this pic, we had just strapped down the center piece. You can see another sheet of steel had been laying on top of it for a couple weeks waiting on eddie.
We did the side pieces first, then did one big piece for the center. It matches the bend and contours of the roof REAL nice and its solid. Next weekend I'm gonna seal it up real well, and do a bit of smoothing with some filler. Then I'll prime it!
