Man, if my mower situation doesn't improve I may be selling both my buses just to stay afloat! I wonder what I could get for em.
What's a 1992 40 footer with raised roof, air ride, underside storage compartments, virtually no rust, highway gearing, mechanical dt466 and allison 643 worth these days?

Got the mower situation fixed for now.
But I do need to start figuring out how I can afford another one sometime soon. As much as buses are selling for these days, I'm wondering if I couldn't fix all my problems by letting one of them go.

what happened to your mowers? lots of breakdowns? or just need another to keep up with the workload?

start looking online up north in a month or two.. the latest weather forecasts are for another very mild winter.. while the mowing season has been great up north. lackluster winter seasons typically put landscapers out ofd business.. they make more money on salt-shovel-plow than they do on mowing and flowers.. they will sell everything down and keep only their best accounts.. some jump out before they lose their hat over winter..

as for having 2 busses.. im finding its a total PITA at times... storing, maintaining, projects on, etc on 2.. I havent got the time for barely one let alone 2.. I been thinking about bringing the DEV bus to florida and putting it up for sale and seeing what happens.

P.S. having 2 homes is a PITA too.. im not sure how the snow-birds do it.. in my current place in life i feel like i have No home not 2.. as I cant figure out which one to root in.

I've got plenty of work coming in, but my main mower had a problem for the entire last week. Last monday the pto stopped. Took me till yesterday to fix, but I'm getting WAY better with a multimeter!
It made me realize how badly I need another mower. Both for productivity and for security in knowing I'll not have anymore whole weeks down due to my mower needing a fix.
I've seen that the prices on mowers are a lot better outside of FL. Just like buses!

We'll see how this goes. I'll likely be getting a lot of bus work done this winter as everything is sorta downhill from here.
But yeah I've got a lot going on this summer. Barely even mess with mopeds these days. I've got at least 3 to build when I get the time!

Just get a John Deer mower deck and weld it to the bus.

Rooting is the problem, especially with buses. I know you like your creature comforts but with a bus, I don't want a house at all. 40 acres and a ginormous barn would be nice tho.

You should have called me 2 1/2 yrs ago. The gf sold a 52" for $1100. Brand new driveshaft that I installed in it.

I'm looking into something like a 60" stand-on zero turn with a Yanmar diesel or higher HP kawasaki.

if I didnt like to take showers or pee in real toilets, bus Life would probably be just about perfect for me... esp since there are so many co-working networks popping up all over.. pay a couple hundred a month and you have a 24/7/365 office (furnished with phone, internet, and free coffee)in any city that the copperative has a location.. so even my needs to download large files would be handled...

I see a lot of stand on mowers come for sale in november / december in ohio.. none of them are diesel though. by stand on i mean they look like a large walk behind and then have what looks to be a wheel behind it that the guy stands on.

I guess since their workload is substantially less than down here in the tropics, they can get away with running yankee residential mowers lol!

pretty much! the heaviest mowing season is usually april - june then it normally dries out and they only mow most accounts 2-3 times per month until october when it may rain again and they go back to 4 maybe 5 times a month.. then november is a couple and december through march is salt season.. this year they are gettign a good mow season.. its rained at least twice most every week.. and I mean good rain.. like a couple hour soaker.. so the grass hasnt stopped growing like spring.. I know some yards getting 6-7 mows per month...

Hers wasn't any of those. And I've never seen a diesel mower. Didn't know they existed (outside of John Deer and the like) until you posted about buying one.

Chris, some of them have a little "pedestal" that the guy stands on. Not much bigger than your feet, attached by a piece of square tubing or whatever. You stand on the little steel plate. Never understood them. I'd much rather have my a$$ planted in a seat than having my knees take every damn bump.
