I hope to get pics, but he said he was going to sleep in a tent in the middle of the bus. That I HAVE to see!

Gonna load up my trailer with lawn equipment and when I'm done I'm heading to Eddie's to give him a nice Thanksgiving surprise.

As someone who regularly sleeps in parking lots and gas stations, on an air-mattress next to my motorcycle, that sounds like luxury to me

Apparently the traffic in Houston is hell right about now.
But he's making good time overall.
I told him to stop there and look some of you guys up but he's pressed for time and has to get back for duty.

Went and saw Eddie. Made his day!

Yeah, its always been a great running bus.
Even better now with a full lube and oil change, and a couple new drive tires.
I don't sell problems to folks, at least without FULL disclosure.

Once we got the new tires on it I knew it was good to go.

Sorry, but traffic in Houston is Hell pretty much 24/7 these days. They never stop working on the damned freeways so even if there are 10 lanes...only one is ever open!

Wouldn't the money be better re-directed on the storm water drainage systems?
I know roadways need to be maintained to bring more people in but the water infra structure whether in or out has to either be oversized in the beginning for growth or has to be replaced to upsize it including everything that crosses there brand new roads that will have to be patched after your local tax dollars paid for it to be laid? And then they decide to upgrade the underground infrastructure.
But there gonna say we had road improvement money but we are looking into storm water improvements so we can request money assistance and maybe in 10-years we can start on it but until then FEMA will pay when it's a problem. Lot more to say but I will shut up.
Sorry rant over.
Hope everyone enjoys there THANKSGIVING.

at this point the trouble in many cities is that when a project is finished, its time to go onto the next right away.. only to find that the roads have worn out 10 years later dude to the heavy traffic. and the project has to be done again..

I-70,I-75 and I-71 through ohio are MAJOR routes.. lots of trucks and cars both.. some part of these freeways are always under construction just to keep up with the wear on the roadways.. even in the 1 million person city of Columbus roads are always in pieces.... and many of the roads and their alternate routes in pieces at the same time... grrrr..

**BUT**. my red bus with new kingpins, draglinks, alignment, lash adjusted, front wheel bearings, 2 new tires.. drives AWESOME now.. even in construction zones the steering wheel isnt buffet-ed in my hands like it was..

Got word from Keith this morning. He made it all the way to his place in Del Rio last night late.
Bus did well, as expected. Glad he made it with no drama or issues.

The bus and I made it to Del Rio in one piece! Thanks to Charlie for all of his help and hospitality. It was a surprisingly fun drive... terrifying at times as a first-time driver of a vehicle that large, but a great experience nonetheless.

I'm going to start a new conversion thread for RYO #1 under the new name I've chosen for it.

That oil change and additive really made it sound nice. Smoother and quieter.

I need to put some of that additive in both of mine.. did you ever use it in your 444E? (the oil additive).

these diesel engines love fresh oil.. I change mine every 6000 miles..

what did you use? hotshot secret?

Yeah, it seemed to quiet down both the 444 and 466 I had.
I'll try it on this next bus, and this time I'll have someone with a smartphone measure the sound level before and after to see if it' real or in my head.
Hotshot's oil additive. Its on sale at Tractor Supply right now, as are air compressors.
