I really did.
Totally stood up at a "safety meeting" and let everyone know what was up.

Class-action suit.
God (& F Lee Bailey) knows, there's a case to make those phuquers shriek fo' they mamma.
I worked follow up on a number of Super Fund sites. Uncle Sugar is hard to litigate against, what with our deep pockets from which to mount a defense. But,
Joe Jagoff, private citizen, is a different matter! Especially since you threw down the Safety Card, and were then ignored...
If you like, I'll see if any of my OSHA & EPA contacts haven't yet moved to the private sector.
Those rat-bastards need to make like Ned Beatty in, Deliverance!!!

soooooo-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

SOunds good but I don't think you've ever worked in Florida.
This is a pretty corrupt state.
The EPA and Osha have declared the shop to be safe. I know because I reported them and they showed up at the shop.

I know that the FL jurisprudential system is so corrupt as to make Tont Sopeanoa crew look like they're Boy Scouts
But... DAY-yum

The closest to being actually investigated they ever got was in the 90's. Osha came and did air quality tests. They weren't monitored tests though, so they left their equipment and came back to read the results.
The company's answer was to not run any equipment at all, so everyone stood around playing grab ass all day having a good time not realizing how bad they were fucked.

Eddie's mom passed away this weekend. RIP Donna.
They were amazing people and will truly be missed.

the shop manager's wife was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis last week. My mom was diagnosed with that about ten years ago. That's two employees' wives out of 40-50 with this RARE disease. Its an immune disorder and can be caused by exposure to certain heavy metals.

And still- no one at that shop is asking any questions.

All for a pack of 305's and a case of Natural Light.

Had to read that a second time. I read it as shop owner the first go round. That would be poetic justice. How much say does the shop manager have? Maybe things will change?

Condolences to Eddie's remaining family.

Condolences to Eddie.
Eddie and his mom both died of horrible aggressive rectal cancer. At least 5 employees or close household relatives have died since I left there in like 2012.

The shop manager's wife being horribly sick is sad, but he's the guy who personally wanted to FIGHT me for bringing up the cancer causing pathogens and heavy metals at a safety meeting. He has a doublewide trailer on the company's property and is their live in servant. As loyal to the company as one can be and he loves to flaunt his authority.

Its a grey area. There's no one to tell anyone they have to do anything.
When osha comes they just don't do any work till osha leaves.
You have to be a current employee to file an osha report and as long a they have their 305's and light beer they're all content.

It's also a difference of North/South. Union/non-union. It's not the same degree as third world but you can think of it that way.

FL is a big sweatshop both figuratively and literally.

You don't have to tell me. I lived there for 30 yrs. I was in electronics manufacturing for my first real job. AC and humidity controlled (for the electronics) but it still paid $hit.

Gona order windows in a week or two. Planning on spending 500-1000. Doors will be another 600-1000. May be able to do the doors a bit cheaper, but I like to guesstimate on the high side.

A REALLY good sloped transition is hard to pull off. Mudda earth and Aaron's look the best of any I've seen.
My biggest fear, and something I'm gona ensure doesn't happen (at least hopefully), is having it end up looking all hokey like the one Chistopher saw at BGA.

I mean, I guess I COULD make do with whatever, but this is the one part I want to look good and I'm a bit worried.
I guess worst case scenario is I try my best, if I don't like it I can cut it all off and start over. If I have to I'll just throw money at it until I've appeased the bus gods.
Is there a link or page to this skoolie? This is the exact roof raise I want and I would love to see it finished.
