Re: Searching for the nebuchadnezzar

Its because they are insulated poorly and there is often rust or mold or both built up in there.
Plus re-paneling in wood or something other than steel gives a much cozier, homier feel. Just my 2cents on ceiling removal. I'll be taking mine down later this week once the side panels are out. Whats been behind the panels so far is absolutely disgusting and I'll reseal everything then spray foam insulate it.

Re: Searching for the nebuchadnezzar

Last of the seats are out starting on side panels, question, I removed all of the screws on the rear side panels and thought they would come off which they didn't. There is aluminum molding above, across the bottom of the window, I'm hesitant to pry it off because I wonder if it would compromise the seal? The Neb is a AmTran. [img][/img]

Re: Searching for the nebuchadnezzar

My Ward is an AmTran and it looks the same except I don't have the aluminum trim strip. I"ll bet yours is like mine spot welded all along the top of the side panels. I ended up using an air chisel and carefully peeling away the top part. worked really really well. I can post pics tomorrow if that will help.

Re: Searching for the nebuchadnezzar

Had a bit of a gift today mid 50's here in CT, nice to be able to be able to open the Neb's doors and windows while angle grinding . Seats out, side panels coming down, couple more to go, a good skoolie day!
