What did you use at the joints to seal out the water?

I would think butyl tape would work about as well as anything. Although Sikaflex would not only seal but it would also adhere.

I have some 6in wide rubber tape that you use when installing home windows, after cinching down the straps I took a heat gun from the inside to where the flanges start to curve & watched all the light in the gap's disappear so now the flanges are flared really good with the body contour , next step is I'm having some 4in sheet metal straps made that I'll put over the mounting flange so when bolting down the pressure will be more evenly distributed then depending how it looks I may put fiberglass over that & flare it in so you don't see any fasteners

My advice to others doing roof raises, originally my neighbor who is a sheet metal man offered to make a cap for me unfortunately his wife came down with some serious medical issues so i didn't want to bother him with it so wanting to do as much as possible myself I made it out of fiberglass, I realize now it would probably been cheaper & faster to just have a sheet metal place build it.

Ok it's been awhile but I finally have the cap bolted down, I put 4in sheet metal straps on both flanges & 2 rows of bolts mostly elevator bolts so today I spread 3 gallons of fiberglass filler on the flanges so tomorrow I'll be sandin g away

Not much to report,, I did find some windows on ebay that fit my living room area perfect, there about 5ft 6" long so spent the last 2 days installing them plus an exit window in bedroom area. the fwd window on the right I only put in a few screws so if need be I can pass things thru it

Also started to install thermal break, unfortunately it's back to work for a couple days

Pesky work and the need to bring in money to pay for our obsessions with our buses. I like the headroom your roof raise has given you. It looks very open in terms of the ceiling area compared to a typical Crown. Obviously, once you put a headliner and ceiling up it will look a little more snug. But, compared to the typical headroom of a Crown, you are styling!!!

I have been working on glassing the back area to smooth out my metal install, while waiting for glass filler to setup I started fitting second stack on left, it's a 5in piece of tube 3/16 thick aluminum goes all the way thru the interior, I'm planning on running straight off the turbo & run a 4 in pipe inside of it , going to notch the backside & run the exhuast out the notch then install a scoop on the top facing into the wind so I have forced air between the exhuast pipe & outer tube, this should keep soot off my tow behind

I usually use a third-party for image hosting like Facebook or imgur, and use the image tags (imgur provides that information). Then you needn't worry about post limits
