Nice! I'll be back in MD around thanksgiving, I'd love to come up and take a look. Also I have been talking to someone who messaged me on here who is curious to see some conversions, maybe I'll have an excuse to take my bus up for a short drive? Though I don't currently have heat...

It was sketchup that I used, and as far as I know, it is still free and relatively easy to use.

Thanks for the kind words! I am currently working on taking the heap out to CO, where it looks like I am slowly moving out to, as I go to school here now. At the end of the semester, early May, I am going to drive it out here, and keep it at my dad's friend's place in Colorado Springs. Free of charge, again. Seems as though I know some very generous people.

I will have to rig up solar at some point, though, to keep the batteries topped up while it is sitting, because there are no plug-ins there. I see on craigslist currently, a lot of 95 2' x 4' solar panels rated at 75 watts each for $35 each. They are kinda big / inefficient but the price is right.

More to come!

At least in Colorado you will be a mile closer to the sun than down here on the coast.

Looks like you'll be in the boulder area? I am as well!
Your thread has been crazy-inspirational to me, and as another relatively-young going on this journey soon, I would love to meet up and possibly see your bus. You did a lot of work, with so much attention to detail - and I know absolutely nothing about where to start. PM me if you're interested in helping me figure out where to begin! I'm still new to this forum so I don't think I can PM anyone yet.

amazing job!

Welp, looks like I have the most-viewed build thread on this site. Go me.

Figured I'd update, it's been a while. A few friends and I took the bus to Colorado, where it stays in Colorado Springs. I live in Boulder, about 2 hours NW of the Springs, but the place I keep it at is free, so I can't complain too much, except that I-25 is slow, it has been real hot out, and my car doesn't have A/C

We did about a 3500 mile trip from MD to CO, since we went down to the Outer Banks, to Pensacola, through NOLA, stayed near Austin, some AWESOME free campsite NE of Amarillo, TX, and the Great Sand Dunes national park in western CO. Awesome place if you haven't been, such a bizarre formation.

If anyone lives in CO closer to Boulder than the Springs, and can help a poor college kid out with bus storage, I'll repay you in free labor
