Re: Smitty's Bus

How is that tank going to deal with UV light? I'd be afraid of it breaking down in short order on the roof, even with decking over the top of it.

Smitty - everything is looking great. I'm jealous of the PV panels. 30+ volts with 1000 amp hours storage should keep you going.

WOW!
I've been busy this month, and haven't caught up with all the conversions yet.

Smitty, if you ever leave the boonies and park near people, they are going to park you with the Prevosts and Tiffins, where your skoolie cousins can't come visit you!

Lovin' that solar array Smitty! So did you decide to not have air conditioning? How about roof vents? And is there going to be an over hang on the rear deck, or had you just not trimmed the boards to length yet in the pic I saw?

Re: Smitty's Bus

The wood framing on the outside is a nice touch. Is that pine? Do you plan to stain/polyurethane it for a woody look, or paint it?

Smitty, I just signed up with verizon after looking long and hard at air cards for work. You can get a one year contract there (believe theyre the only ones) and a netbook for $130. If you go with a 2 year it was like $40 for the netbook. For being mobile, I love that thing. It is so much easier than screwing with a full size laptop. Just an idea.

Re: Smitty's Bus

No AC? I guess if you end up needing it you can get a portable ducted unit. Maybe turning the sunshine on the roof into electricity leaves it cool enough, and the shade and airflow below the deck. But I would plan in a provision just in case.

I love my AC. With the leather couch and seats, the AC and the thick sounding stereo, the front half of my bus is the best place to hang out, even at home.
