I love the new forum setup. Very organized and easy to find what you're working on at any given time.

But is there some way to change the text color to something darker? I'm having trouble reading the light color against the light background.

So what's the plan with removing all the electrical? Will that make it easier to insulate? Or are you rewiring? I'm still too chicken to take out any wires until I know BOB's gonna run. Plus, I have to get him inspected this month, so better not undo too much until I absolutely am sure I can get it back together

However, tearing out the dash board looks like a great idea. I was looking at that last weekend wondering how much gack is behind there... looks like you found out and already have it under control.

Good luck with the conversion! I'm definitely looking forward to how you progress!

I love your forum! Don't care about the background colors, cuz I'm almost blind anyway!

I can definitely understand trying to work on your bus when your physically unable, so I have drawn and redrawn plans and tanks, and plumbing and on and on....

I have a three ring binder full of chicken scratch. does your bus have under belly cargo bays? If so, I have a set of plans for gray and black water tanks that would mount there. still want a floor plan? I finally came up with one that does like you wanted, not the shotgun type, but didn't loose a lot of space.

just let me know, and glad you got your bus!!!!!

Glad to see you finally got yourself a project outside of political consulting

. Looks like it is coming along pretty quickly and you are having lots of fun removing the old rusted on screws and grinding out those rivets! Take lots of pictures, they come in handy when you forget where something goes 6 months down the road when resassembling. I kept every single salvagable fastener and threw them in a bucket. I was glad I did because alot of them couldnt be found at a hardware or fastener store. Have fun!

i love the way your thinking smitty. the channels will make that roof raise so much easier. so how are you gonna raise the roof? jacks? chains and winches? just wondering. if i was close, i would love to help man. that stuff looks so fun.

Your bus is looking good, I love watching step by step steps...did that make sense? And the picture of you standing up straight is mighty fine too I must say.

I like the reversed channel in channel setup, makes for easier welding and better penetration, it should also help in getting the skins to lay flat.

The company browser wont open up your pics, but I'll comment anyway, and then open them up when I get home. So, ya got your roof raised. I'd say it's coming along good. Especially for a broke knee'd, crabby, old, foil hat, such as yourself.

HEY!! I resemble that remark!

However I'm currently working on a kevlar-lined version of the hat which I'll cover with an old tanned coonskin I have laying around so I won't stick-out while hiding-out in the hills....yet will still be protected from those pesky alpha-rays

May try to get skin & some structural/bracing materials ordered tomorrow. Gonna just have the skin sheared to size.

7'9" is a great lot of attic space! You could run all kinds of HVAC ductwork and electicity and insulation and... wow!
Good start on the chop-n-pop work. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Just grab parts from a wheelchair lift some skoolie is scrapping to make the lookout tower lift. Add some dry ice for a smoke effect and a hold up a Braveheart sword as your throne, er chair rises up through the opening, and you can really make a really royal theatrical entrance.

Though as a ham radio operator, a "lid on the roof" evokes a totally different meaning to me.

[Explanation: while the published definition of "lid" is a radio operator with poor on-air practices, it can loosely be used to describe any person who behaves like their elevator doesn't go all the way to the penthouse.]

Anyway, good progress.
