Because we don't want to bury a mess that can cause a big mess of problems later on.

It's best to know every system in your bus like the back of your hand.

Do you really want some wire that was not needed causing a short and burning up your alternator? Or boiling your battery?

I leave nothing behind me to surprise me later. When working over sea's, I make sure to double tap the fallen enemy. One extra bullet is cheap insurance.

Got my order of bullet hinges in and had to try them out. I got he access doors for the fuel tanks and stabilizer jacks together and primed. I still have to punch the holes for the cam locks. I'll o that later when I put some rubber cushions in to keep them from rattling (I hate rattles).

Here's the propane tank assess door. I still have to frame in the paddle latch when I get them. Primed to keep the rust down.

Here's the cover for the Central AC unit I'm making from a window unit. This panel will be screwed in place instead of a hinge since it will not be gotten into very often.

I've never liked the radiator grill for several reasons. One, it had broken due to vibration and rattles excessively. Two, the headlight panels were mounted to it and because it broke, the headlights would shake. Three, the old grill required you take 4 screws loose to open the grill to access the radiator fill neck. I have another place to top off the radiator but my grill only requires 2 screws and it tilts out. Four, there seems to be a common problem with cooling for many who have these FE buses. While mine never did on the 1800 mile trip home from TX, I thought while redesigning this grill, why not get a lot of air flow in the process.

Here's a pic with everything removed and the radiator and after cooler freshly painted with some flat black (you'll understand why when you see the grill):

Installed the mounting bracket. The headlight mounts bolt to this bracket and are very solidly mounted:

With the grill mounted. It can be easily removed if need be as the bullet hinges are both facing the same way. I reused the letters from the old grill. When the pain seasons well, I'm going to fill them with silicone from the back side to tie them into the mesh of the expanded metal:

Bah...my rub rails are going to be right out there and visible...black against blue. I like the new grille. Looks very much like mine-

Just without the ladder

Interesting, the Genesis uses only a half size intercooler for the engine intake air.

The TC 2000's use a full size intercooler.

Just starting to price buses. Electricity? 9 volt/12 volt battery?

12 volt is the norm.
Coach buses are usually 24 volt.

Start a new topic dealing with bus electrical stuff.
All your questions would be answered much more quickly and things would be much more concise.

Flip down steel grill, awesome! That'll take a stone or two.

Yep/ Just spent ten days in Nebraska, helping daighter and family. Had to fly to save time because of work schedule. Dane it.
Got back and can't find my circular saw. Between that and the heat/humidity, I can't get much done.
Your bis looks great. Keep it up.

Where are you? I'm in South Carolina. Maybe schedule a road trip to do something like that. If we had the materials in hand it shouldn't take that long.
