nice work, I can see that with your travel plans more insulation is not required but now that all the difficult work is done I think adding and filling the dead space with more insulation does not add a lot of cost and certainly would increase the possibilities if you would ever change plans or would sell the bus. It also helps with sound / noise an leaves less space for critters to hide.
Are you using expandable foam around the edges to seal and glue everything together? Filling up all the space also adds considerably to the rigidity.
thanks for the 70-80F trip route links

Hey Christopher,
There is sooo much to see in the US. I took a six year trip and covered 46 States. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had the means right now.
But.... Mexico has its merits as well. Give it chance You are missing out if you don't at least give it a try.
It is going to be 82 and sunny in Mazatlan today.

I'm going to be filling the entire void between the stringers with foam board and I won't be living in my bus full time. Chasing 70degrees or not, IMO you are under insulating

I'm thinking of insulating 2" in floor, sides, and ceilings. My bus will spend 99.8764675% of its time in FL, and likely the remainder of its life in the southeast.

Thanks for your input Joe, it's appreciated. All the foam board is cut bigger than the opening and is a very tight press fit so no need to glue it all together.
As far as the critters go there are way to many other places for them to enter if they want to get in, like the front bi-fold bus door. So I'm not worried about that. I'm not trying to make an impregnable fortress from bugs.....lol.

Oh, I'm going to have A/C in my bus and a heater as well if I ever need them in the mild climates I happen to be in. Besides, all the insulation in the world will only do so much with those horrible inefficient single pane windows we have in our buses

Finally got all the rusted through areas patched around the wheel wells and put on a good coat of rustoleum paint. Now time to put in the floor insulation and plywood subfloor.

Do you plan on closing all those seat bolt holes first?

Oh yeah, my bad. Forgot to mention that Will probably go this route with door panel fasteners and a dab of silicone caulk to seal them completely.

Looks like you got a lot accomplished during the holidays. Tango, GreyCoyote and myself will be getting together soon to have a couple of beers and discuss this Texas Skoolie thing. Would you be interested in meeting with us ?

My bus got a new "man cave" this weekend. A nice 13x55 enclosed and secure storage unit. Will be better than having to work out in the damn sun come summer time again.
Here is a little video. Will try to get it to post later today.

Anyone know of a place that I can get a lanyard type drain setup to help drain my air tanks instead of crawling under the bus every time?
