If the roof had a small leak it could have rust damage or mold in the insulation. If you take the inner tin off you can replace the old insulation. Check for roof leaks and repair any rust damage found.

What Kipin said; plus I had to chase down where the strobe was to patch the leaks there. When I pulled the cable chases and interior rear cap, there was mold forming within the batting, so it had to come out. I take no pleasure in breathing mold spores. And the fiberglass used in bus construction is utter garbage, holding in no heat.

Also the the interior steel creates a thermal bridge that allows your heat to escape in winter. You really don't want to leave either the interior steel or 20 year old fiberglass in place.

Thanks for posting pictures of the mold. I've been pushing for a complete stripping of the interior, and my partner in crime doesn't think it is necessary. That's a good thought about the thermal bridge, too. I like the steel and its poor insulating qualities has eluded me.
