The further behind you all that hard work is, the better you'll feel about it.

Yeah for sure...
On another note: I have a Dometic Penguin II AC unit and wanted to hook up a regular thermostat to it.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to accomplish that?

If you're sticking it on an un-insulated bus you won't need a thermostat. You'll be running it on full blast till it croaks.

I tried an AC last summer while this bus was all stripped out. Hopeless. I might as well have used the AC on a picnik table outside for all the good it did.

theres a reason the average full length skoolie has 10 TONS! thats right 125,000 BTU of A/C for running down the road...
partly to cool somewhat quick but also because of the lack of insulation requires GOBS of cooling...
busses SPEC'd with A/C at build time seem to have better insulation in them than non A/C busses.. but nonethless Nothing like what good aftermarket insulation will do..

for sure.. I find that if i stand right under mine at the moment it works great. 4 feet away.. not so much.. however with all of the walls and insullation going in to help keep it cool/warm when needed, it is working much better and not so hard now.
more pics to come soon.

Got some more work done.. It's coming along nicely.
I thought the wall sconces were gonna be really sad and small, but they ended up looking good for the size of the space they needed to be in.
Now I have to do the outside venting work for the refrigerator and the water heater.

Ok, I have a question on inverters.
I have the PD4650 Panel and the Power Max Transfer Switch. What I am interested in doing is installing an inverter in the bus and am not sure how to do it the most efficient way.
If anyone has any suggestions and examples, that would be extremely helpful.

I have another question?
With the water system. should you do the freshwater check valve after the water pump or before the water pump?

Looking good.
I bet you will get some answers to your electrical and plumbing questions, if you post them under the threads for each situation.
I'd try to answer them, but I know just enough to blow the bus up....Sorry
Good luck
