Re: The 72 foot 1994 bluebird/fleetwood motorhome
I was going through texas and was about to miss my exit and snap..there goes the hitch and allot of sparks as the trialer hits the pavment and slamed into the back of the bus.Seems my custom patch weld job on the cracked hitch I put on didn't hold. So I had a new custom hitch installed. Not a bolt up one. I had a shop for 650. Build out of 3/8 tube steel a custom hitch. Tired of driving and sick of walmarts so I am putting the hammer down back to Los Angeles 10-4. The trip for the most part was uneventful other than the What I belive is the oil pressure sensor **** out on me as well. Guess it is common with pre 98' cummins 5.9 The bus is ready for a good filter change, fuel air and maybe do a transsmisition filter fluid change. Can I use regular 10-30w in the transmistion?..Heehe J/K

You have far too much "beige" inside there... You need to add some colour to the decor. Look s like the interior of a stick-&-staples RV. (puppy dog does not count)

Re: The 72 foot 1994 bluebird/fleetwood motorhome
Took pics can't find card reader for my SD card in camera. Update on the no oil pressure. Engine never burned a drop of oil. I switched to T6 5-40 and it burned all the oil about.I did an oil change about 3000, miles ago. So in around 3000 miles it burned 4 gallons of oil. I had to buy 4 gallons of oil to add to engine. It had no oil pressure because It had no oil in the engine!! Where did 4 gallons of oil go? I filled the oil in roswell,nm. I have now driven back to Los angeles,CA I am going to check the oil when I go out to the bus in a few hours and let you know How much it burned. Maybe 2 thin of an oil.If thats the case I will be switching back to a 15-40 conventional. ?? Any idea's ??

Re: The 72 foot 1994 bluebird/fleetwood motorhome
Rotella is what I use in my caterpillar, it seems to be the most popular at the truck stops to th the truck drivers. If you haven't noticed a large pool of oil underneath your engine after setting at your local Wal-Mart parking lot , then you must be burning it. The good news is as long as you keep oil in the crankcase it will keep pulling for a long time.

Re: The 72 foot 1994 bluebird/fleetwood motorhome
So I assume you are sure that it is not leaking oil rather than burning? If it's burning that much oil, that's a little scary. If that continues you could experience "runaway diesel" one of these days. If you don't know, that's a condition where so much oil from the crankcase is bypassing the pistons that it feeds the combustion chamber in an uncontrolled manner and the engine revvs out of control until it self-destructs! In that situation turning off the ignition key, fuel cut-off, hitting the brakes, all will be useless - the only way to avert disaster is to manually block the air intake by stuffing something like a folded blanket into it or a flat object on top of it, depending on how your intake is shaped.
All my diesels get Shell Rotella 15w-40 or Chevron Delo 15w-40. I've tried cheaper oil and regretted it. Some people swear by the Mobile 1 synthetic oil, but that is way too expensive for my budget.

Re: The 72 foot 1994 bluebird/fleetwood motorhome
It's not leaking for sure. Not a drop.I did notice that the engine smokes alot after I switched oil. Espessially if you let it idle for any period of time. Could be it is still smoking when your driving it..Just the wind is blowing it away perhaps. when I get the funds I'm changing back to a conventional 15-40 before I did the change to synthetic the oil that was in it was in the bus from 2008 from when I bought it from the bus company. I drove another 4000. miles on it and it never burned a drop or leakied in 2 years. I swithced oil and now it is disapperaring. I think If I switch back it should be fine. Engine pulls and runs like an ox

Re: The 72 foot 1994 bluebird/fleetwood motorhome
I checked the oil. It seemed fine?? I added 4 gallons of t6 in Roswell on my way to Los Angeles. By the reading on the dip stick it didn't burn any oil after driving 1200 miles under the same conditions. ?? Just have to keep an eye out for it. Thinking of moving to lake Havusu City,AZ Property seems a little cheaper there. Well need to save up for the move. ZI get in one place and I'm ready to leave
