Time to get the Akitabus a dinette, we purchased a used dinette off Craigslist and we are in the process of installing it in the bus... pics to follow.

Here is a skoolie that I saw on the way home from work, so I had to stop and take pictures of the paint job (or overlay of film ??)

Not sure how this was done but it was done well.

Actually this bus was done with vinyl overlay by Buddhabrosmedia.com, I talked with them about getting some for our bus to put on the bow and the stern. Its pretty incredible stuff.

Built a custom cutting board that fits into sink with strainer.

We started working on the dinette that we bought off Craigslist, rather that have a slide out on the bus we decided to go with a slide in, meaning the dinette will slide toward the center of the bus to accommodate more people or slide just a little father to go from a 36" bed to a 60" or 5' bed. Had to buy 500 Lbs. by 30" long drawer slides and do a little fabricating but it should work well.

Started to work on the double slide ins on the dinette, to start we attached 3/4" plywood rectangles to the floor to attach 500# drawer slides to then inside that will be another 3/4" plywood rectangle the will be covered with a sheet of 3/4" ply that the dinette get attached to.

In for travel or when its just the two of us.

Nancy made all new seat cushions and backs that look fabulous, can hardly wait to get them installed.

Thanks for the comments, the cutting board just kind of evolve from wanting to play with wood, of course that ending up with me having to buy a planner, which I will use for many projects in the future. I have another cutting board with just the opposite of what you see cause that is how you have to make them. It was a fun project.

Well the slidein is coming along, Nancy has made new cushions and they are beautiful, now its just up to me to put the pieces together, I have to give a lot of credit to Sean our ME son for coming up with the idea of the HD drawer slides for the dinette.... it should work like a charm when done. It will make for a nice queen size bed when done. Complete pictures to follow when completed.

Thanks for the nice comments. took the bus for a little trip and everything went very well, brought it home parked it and went to restart the following weekend and low and behold it was acting like I was sucking air into the fuel system somehow... had about a 1/4 of a tank of fuel...thought maybe my fuel indicator was not working so added 10 gals in the driveway change out the fuel filter and the same thing, very rough idle to the point that it would die unless you were there to feather the throttle. after doing a little research find out that it is the CPS, a 35 dollar part the tells the engine the position of the cam shaft. replaced the part and now its back to normal, bought a spare to keep with me at all times CPS = Camshaft position sensor.... who would have ever thought.

Oh yea-common repair on a 7.3. I've done it roadside in 10 minutes. (heres a trick-if you find yourself have to do it on a hot engine

-grab some aluminum foil to wrap around the lower rad hose to prevent forearm burns.)

Finally got our radio and subwoofer installed, had to relocate what I call the cruise control and light switch and lengthen all of the wires but it works well and look pretty good if I do say so myself.

Well I love jumping around on projects... let me finish up with the dinette. it turned out really nice with the 30" inch drawer slides.... we went to a Seahawks rally and so we slid the seats out to make room for 3 people on each side of the dinette, so seating for 6 on a 36" dinette table. the bech seats actually slide out to be 54" but the table does not.

Post some pics of the dogs with the bus. Have they been for a ride in it yet? You can use their fur for natural insulation. Since they blow they're coat twice a year you'll have plenty of material. We just have two and the hair in the house is like carpet! I can only imagine the amount of hair you get with your pack.
