Since i got her cleaned out, i haven't done much of anything with my skoolie since i've been home. After a month of living in the bus on the road i got kinda burned out. (temporarily)

She did make it to a post burningman party, and I did take a group of high school kids out to the homecoming dance last weekend..

I am taking a group of women out for a batchelorette party at the end of this month. October is usually the end of my bus season. The jacuzzi inside the bus doesn't work out well when the air temperature drops below freezing. I will prob take her out for new years, then not again until spring break...

Going to South Padre island in early march if anyone is interested.

I do plan to finish a lot of projects this winter:

Already talked to the floor guy about putting in a new floor like my old skoolie had. Chopped up rubber pieces mixed together with glue and put down with a trowell to form a thick custom made rubber mat that is spongy, non-slip, water proof, impervous to most chemicals, and has decent insulating properties for both sound and temperature.

Also plan to finish the jacuzzi lifting up and down project,

as well as the glass block.

My electrical wireing needs to be totally re-done.

The front door needs to have the remote keyless entry mechanism hooked up.

Front steps need diamondplate

i want to build a waterfall/fountain

install the boiler to heat jacuzzi, and the interior of the bus

I'm sure I'll add to the list.......It's so much easier to work on the bus in the winter time when i don't have to worry about getting her ready to go out "this weekend". i do a much better job when i have months to get everything done.

I'll probably sell this bus sometime after i return home from South Padre next spring/early summer. I think i want to buy a greyhound type bus.

wow...i've been rambling for quite a while now......

I"m making progress....slowly but surely.

Got the remote keyless entry for the front door installed today. I still need to tidy things up, but it works. The construction of this bus allows the air (hydraulic) cylinder to be totally hidden.

Autozone has a 4 channel remote control that allowes to turn on/off or open/close up to 4 different circuits with a very small remote. It only cost me $35.00. IT seems to have excellent range. I'll use one of the other channells to remotely fire my new flame thrower. the thrid channel will raise the jacuzzi when i get to that point. Not yet sure how i'll use the last channel.

photos to come......

Hye, I might join you at South Padre Island. Just moved to Houston (about a month and a half ago) and I'm looking for a trip this spring.

Name the date and I'll be there.

Thanks for the info. I'll see you at South Padre Island on the second week of March. The weather should be really nice at that time and the college kids should be running wild.

I shouhd have listened to you months ago!

When i get back to working on the bus, i'm going to get rid of one cylinder and use only 2. This should alleviate the problem i've been having with the jacuzzi not raising evenly.

The hydraulic cylinder idea seemed so easy when i first started, but like so many projects the devil is in the details. I won't give up on this project though. I've spent too much money, and made too much progress. Besides, watching the jacuzzi rise through the roof with party lights flashing, and smoke (from the fog machine) pooring out of the roof after pushing the button on my remote is just far too cool of an idea.

The other related project that needs a bit of engineering is the convertible ceiling. I've decided that having a convertable is much cooler than having the ceiling attached to the jacuzzi frame and just lifting in unison with the tub.

A California sun roof on a bus, nice! Go to you local upholstery shop and tell them you need a top made for your school bus and watch the fright in their eyes.

In the spirit of thinking about working on my bus, I ordered a couple of 12 volt car amps for the interior. I already have a pair of 15" woofers that are in desparate need of some real power. I need to purchase 4 speakers...perhaps 5/9's to scatter through the bus.

Last summer i purchased a sony xplod stereo that has 3 sets of output rca jacks, and at least one pair of rca inputs.

It's cold! Makes working on the bus quite an adventure.

I don't often take the bus out on the town during the winter, but i got invited to a really wacky event and just couldn't say no.

The name of the event is Detroit Santarchy. Basically, people dress up as Santa and go out crawlin. The organizers have several buses lined up and plan on 300 Santa's this year. This is the 6th consecutive event in Detroit.
