Maybe stretch out the length you need and weigh it down in the GA heat for a while.

I'm at that step, so want to move forward. We are expected to be 86* tomorrow, so I'll give it a try, heck it should be warmer in the bus.

Get a bunch of blocks or heavy stuff and weigh down one end in your groove and keep working down the line. Then pop in that plywood after it settles down a bit. Good luck. Sounds like snake wrestling.

No plywood, laying finished flooring right on top of the vapor barrier on top of the insulation. I have to research the effects of the VB and the PEX. Don't want to insulate the heat from the floor.

Well this was interesting. I was getting ready to install the EMMAKO back up camera and got the instructions out to see how complicated it would be.
Here's step 1 in the manual.

Anyone else get one of this brand and seen this?

The PEX was being totally uncooperative. So I got out my roll of 400* masking tape and sealed the lines in the tracks. Started laying the floor down. Need to wait for some roofing discs to secure some of the rigid.

Looks good Marc. The Kidd and me just rolled it out. The heat spreader has an omega shape and the pex snaps inside and keeps it straight. I used the pex with oxygen barrier. Not that it matters in my case being an open system but it was cheaper then the potable water pex.

I guess I got cheap spreaders, no omega. But the deals kep coming. I recently bought a new large 46" tool box from the Liquidation Hut. $600 got it for $250. I didn't have the correct roll around for it, had it sitting on a 30" cart, box is 48". So I'm in Home Depot the other day and notice these nice rollaways for $169, what a deal. As soon as my cashiers check clears in 2 days I'll go get one, there's about 10 of them there. I go intoday and they only have 2 left, yep it was deal. The last 2 are marked up to $195 from the retail $250. Not happy about the price increase on the remaining units I grab one anyways. I get to check out and ask why they went up, no clue. She scans it and the screen says "Not Valid", it is also showing a price of $148. I said ring it up, which she did. It's perfect.

I played with some pex at Home Depot. It does look to be a severe PITA. Did you try a hairdryer or heat gun? That's what I plan to do. Probably a hair dryer first. Don't want to overheat it. As my bus is at work, maybe I'll just leave the pex in the car with all the windows closed and the sunroof screen back. That'll get it to 110° even on an 85° day.

This is assuming I'll be at that point while there are still 85° days.

I didn't find the heat of the day enough to help at all. I physically took the PEX and bend it the opposite direction and it would hold it's position, so you to just straighten it by hand as you roll it out.
Got the front half of the PEX completed. Added a gas line from the stove to the water heaters. Ready to finish the flooring. Ya, progress!!!!!!

I only messed with a foot of it at the store but it damn sure didn't straighten by hand. I mean I could bend it straight but it had enough memory that it just coiled back up as soon as I let go. Wasn't exactly warm in the store but it wasn't cold either.

So I've been researching for an answer for the most important part of this bus they forgot to put in, A CUP HOLDER. I have some basic requirements. Needs to hold a Yeti size cup. Most of the cup holders I found were too small. I also want to cut a hole in the top of the dash and recess the holder. I was able to finally find some large cup holders that should work nicely. They are in fact slightly too large and a Yeti flops around loosely in it, but it won't tip. In the center of the bottom of the holder is a recess the size of a soda can. I pulled out this Ford Taurus cup holder/coin tray unit I bought a bunch of when I was modifying CRX's and mounting these in them. But alas, the cup holder is tiny. I was going to mount it in the end of the dash.

Here's an idea. Get some thin foam sheet, something like 1/8" neoprene but stiffer, and cut a reverse-cloverleaf so the flaps nearly meet in the middle but the edge is as wide as your cup holder, then sandwich it between your recessed cup holder and your retaining ring (or somehow attach it to the top of the holder). That will keep your Yeti from flopping around.

Well that was a pleasant surprise, after boring a hole in the top of the dash and sticking the cup holder in there, I started to think, since I was bitching about a 30oz. Yeti being loose, which is not a cup I use often as they are too big, heavy and bulky. I noticed a Gatorade bottle up on the dash and was pleasantly surprised to see it drop right in. I drink a heck of a lot more Gatorade than I do anything out of a Yeti cup. I think I'll mount the backup camera where it sits and have room for a GPS screen to the left of the cup holder.
