Seal it how? The plastic matting or the floor in general?

I thought I got ripped off when I installed it and it was only an inch too wide. Now I see it wasn't 8' wide, but only 7.5" wide, which was perfect for the bus.
Would likely have been way more expensive but way more cooler with the 2 part epoxy garage flooring that you pour. If you're doing the bus on the cheap forget it but I would think it would be better suited for your bikes and what-not. I'm sure there's a version of the Navy non-skid stuff out there somewhere too. That stuff would give plenty of grip to keep things from sliding around while driving.

Bikes get tied down, they ain't sliding anywhere. Ya, the epoxy flooring wouldn't fit the budget, this stuff will work just fine. Navy non-skid version just throws sand in the wet top coat.

Was thinking also during loading/unloading that non-skid would be helpful.

Do you think I need to seal my whole floor if I only have a little rust spot by the A/C lines? Probably 6x6" total. The rest is pretty spotless galv..

What makes you think only the rusty spot will rust? Preventive maintenance is important. I just painted my floor with a roller and cut in with a brush, only took about 1/2 hour-45 minutes

Nice job on the floor. I'm probably at least a month or a shop rental away from warm enough weather to paint. Do you need special paint to go over galvanized?

Galvanized metal must be "etched" prior to painting. There are a number of "Self Etching Primers" that will do the job nicely. You can also use vinegar, Ospho or solution of water & ammonia. A little Googling will get you to a method that should work best for you and your budget.

I used Prep&Etch to, well, prep and etch the rusty floor before painting it with Rustleum High Performance Metal Primer.

there are several primers, or cleaners, or chemicals you can use to prepare galvanized metal for painting on the market - ask what your local paint store has to offer

Peakbus,
Ospho and Corroseal are what "everyone" here uses; they are fairly cheap and free shipping with Amazon Prime. A gallon is more than enough to do a 40' floor with 2 coats.

YEah Ospho is awesome, cheap, and easy to find. Been using it since I was a kid fixing up old rusty vw's.
Great for prepping galvanized or oxidized surfaces for paint.

KleanStrip Prep & Etch from Home Depot is the exact same product as Ospho, only half the cost.

Thanks for all the replies. I've got a quart of Ospho from a previous job. I was hoping to use it up, so this will do it! I just didn't think it was used on fresh metal. Now I know!
