The Bucket List

Figured now that I know what slate I'm starting with I should start a build thread. I'll post random thoughts so i don't forget them. Random thought #1, how do I secure the double doors in back. I suppose I could look at and see if bottom latch like a van door might have could be fabled in. If not, I thought of tractor trailer type cargo door cam lock bar latch on both doors. But then I lose an emergency exit. So a cam lock on the drivers side and the stock closure on the passenger side. Need to figure out how to add a key lock.

Deposit made, flight booked for 6/11, my deceased brothers birthday, it's an omen. I'm a Skoolie.

The bus is 2-1/2hrs from the Twin Falls area. I'm flying into TF and he was going to pick me up and take me to the bus. But then I found out one of my best friends lives in TF. So I will fly in and stay with my friend that night and have the seller bring the bus to me, he has to make the trip anyways, no sense in me making an extra 5 hours with 30 ahead of me. It's an older guy who took care of it the year or 2 he owned it. I think this was the one they bought to haul 15 grandkids around in and ended up only using it once. I paid a bit more than I wanted to, but think once I have it I will not have regretted that.

Good luck man!

It looks like a nice bus, now to put a 30 hour dent in that drivers chair

Gonna be a long 2 weeks. I gotta start watching my budget. It seems the airfares go up $100 an hour. $392 from Atl. to TF 2 weeks out, 1 day earlier and it jumps to $472, one week earlier and it's $593.

I've gotten the lowest fares I can find using my trip advisor account and flying Frontier.

Have a safe ride back man!

I find most of the "discount" airfare sites sell the same seat for the same price. My only criteria is I can leave no sooner than noon, and I have to arrive same day, for less than $400.

Yeah, I've checked and no matter how I try to book, if I use TA I get it the cheapest. YMMV.

So how much are they for Atl. to Twin Falls on the 11th or sooner. I got 24 hours to cancel my $392 if you can find me one cheaper.

Oh, I'd run my search as ATL to Boise.
I got the same price as you to Twin Falls.

This is strange. I put a deposit on this bus 2 weeks ago. I notice they haven't pulled the CL ad yet. I asked them just now if they have gotten more calls. No one in that time wants a 40' FE DT466/MD3060? Not one call.Granted the price was up there ($4000). but no excessive for this package. Settled on $3500, more than I wanted to pay for a bus, but I think the package definitely will give me my moneys worth.
Just got the bad news from them that they will pick me up at the airport, but not bring the bus. They only have one driver, so they will pick me up in Twin Falls and drive 5.5 hrs into Montana. Messes up my whole schedule adding 10 more hours to my trip, basically blowing that whole day.

Looking at Govdeals right now and seeing what the SOB guys are paying, my bus would be owned by an SOB because I wouldn't pay $8K for it, they would.

They probably just want to see the cash in their hand, but I don't think they can sell it out from under you. Get out there quick and give them no choice.
Stay cool!

They are an older couple. She did say she was leaving the ad until it's paid for. They got a $500 deposit from me and I'll give them the rest on delivery. They were just covering their ass until it's paid, but it's mine for now. Flights booked for Monday, they'll pick me up sometime Tues. and drive me 5.5 hrs to the bus. I'm worn out just thinking about that day.

Well, all is good then. Patience young fellow! Did you get that bike you mentioned?
And get to the airport in time this trip!
Hope this trip goes well for you and the bus performs well. Can't say I blame them for not bringing the bus to you, at least you get to check it out from a cold start and then boogey home!
