The Conversion Was Not Easy

There were quite a few challenges along the way, but it was a successful outcome!
Here's more info on the conversion: https://outboundliving.com/converting-a-school-bus/

Yup. Was wondering what OP's angle was with their post.

Took me a while, but I warmed up to their channel. Especially the travel videos. I didn't watch much of their build videos. I found them annoying at first.

I watched their first several vids but the girl kept getting more and more annoying to the point of cringe.
Looks like their bus turned out very nice though. RV windows and a full strip down is unusual for a YT build. They redeemed themselves a bit with the final product!

Yeah, I hear that. I think he's a reality tv producer for Maury or something so that might explain the cringiness. It looks like they documented their build pretty well, which might help other people down the line. I was surprised how many other people are documenting their skoolie builds and namadic life on youtube. Some are better than others. Lots of talent out there.

Annoying is an understatement. More like "Train Wreck". If it wasn't for his friend Manny and Scott's wallet it would have been impossible cause that man admittedly has no skills

It all comes down to $$$ - and I mean that in an annoying, but not exactly bad way.

You watch Youtube videos, you watch ads along with said videos. Get a big enough channel, with enough views, and You can share in some of the ad revenue from it. Get a reasonably popular channel, and it can be a couple hundred dollars/month. (Enough to finance part of the Skoolie life.)

It's fine having a source of income documenting your travel, the annoying part comes in when Youtube starts imposing certain rules about your content views - for example, people might have to actually watch for a certain duration of time to count as a "view." (Loading the page and watching 20 seconds of a 10-minute video won't count.) The downside to this is that in order to get enough people watching your videos for long enough, you have to make the videos longer. This is why you'll often see people record an into section that talks about what they're going to talk about - it's a way to make the video another minute longer, and keep people watching for another minute.

Your channel needs 4000 watch hours ( hours... that’s a **** load of views) before you get any money and if you have around 7000 subscribers your monthly revenue is about 15$ Yt isn’t a good revenue source for many many people.

And some people. Not necessarily bus life channels. Make really big money plus endorsement and product placement deals. go to https://socialblade.com/youtube/and find out how much they make.

Yea. I have 30 videos. 3500 subscribers. And like 250,000 views and ZERO money. I’m not even close to 4000 hours. I won’t ever be probably because I’m not a content whore. That’s why people make videos every day talking about nothing. That’s the only way to get the hours up. Even then people still have to click on the ads. No money unless they click an ad.

Yea. Some accounts do really well. But for normal people who just review knives or make buses. You aren’t making money really.

Me neither. Is there such a thing as "skoolie porn"? It seems they like to flash the flesh a bit too much for me. Makes me feel like they're trying to sell something. I heard they got off the road and maybe bought a house?

Almost all the YT "skoolies" seem like they're selling something.
Very few of them seem to care much about the long term quality of their bus builds. MuddaEarth and a few others are the exception. Most of em seem like they're trying to build a brand or something with all the names etc.

The wife and I followed Scott and "Kayley J's" Roll With It build for a while but... Anyway, it's weird that the OP's bus is so similar... right?
