You can purchase several thousand gallons of gas for what it will cost to repower.

The SV392 is built for stout and has torque the big 3 never had in their big blocks.

Your best investment for power upgrades would be a EFI kit from [url]www.hamiltonfuelinjection.com

I would keep the fresh air intake as is. Not only will it be cooler but it will be much cleaner as well.

The taillights, spoke wheels, and high roof all shout out government spe'c bus.

You know I've decided to stick with the 392 after all, but I have started the process of removing some of the burdens on the engine. I am removing the pulley driven fan in lieu of a twin electric set up, I am also seriously considering the fuel injection option. The problem I'm having with that is I really like the Hamilton MPFI setup he has on a 392 kicking around you tube, but I cant seem to find any information on it at his site. I may have to drop him a line about it.
Right now I've gutted the entire thing... the luan was all dry rotted and I was very worried that some of the wiring may be waiting to send me up in a poof of apocalyptic smoke. I plan on starting in again once the ice and cold wane away... and to definately post more pictures on here.

Talking The Juggernaut Slumbers... until the thaw

Seen that there were a few poking around in here and I thought an update was long overdue. After discovering some issues with the paneling and other outdated designs...I decided to renovate. I had toyed with scrapping her, but you just dont find those lines in todays new machines... plus.. her skeleton is good and you dont just give up on a lady of such character.
This was from a few months ago..I have started the process of patching, grinding, and repairing some of the more urgent concerns. I am going to spray foam the interior with a Dow Frothpak come the warmer days. But now I am focusing on getting a firm deck down on this pirate ship. I have opted for a 50 amp service to power the two AC units, I will be adding 400 watts of solar on top come this summer and upgrading to a Natures Head Composting toilet so I can cut down on the blackwater tank. I have a new 40 gallon freshwater tank and a reclaimed LPG tank from another RV that needs to be installed underneath.
Currently all the marker lights, tail lights, interior lights have all been purchased and are now leds. I am searching for some new windshield wiper motors because the pneumatic ones were just unreliable. I have also scored an RV fridge from Craigslist that was removed from a new (but crashed) 5th wheel. I'm currently in a big " what goes where" phase... trying to figure out the blend of function and form...
As always I am hoping to hear from anyone that wants to put their 2 cents in.
I do have a question regarding the reliability of an Allison MT-40 transmission w/o the retarder. Thats what is mated to the 392 IHC in the trunk. I've seen some mixed reviews online...but she seems to push the big girl down the road without too much effort.
I hope everyone is building and creating and enjoying the winter...and I look forward to hearing from any of you!
Regards,
Deacon75
