I used to have that exact same bike! I thought that engine looked familiar. Mine might have been a different year, but same model. It was my first motorcycle. Mine also had a bit of the mad max look to it, but was mostly stock.

Re: The Sloth

Well if all goes well, im planning on moving on this summer finnaly. My great skoolie expedition starts! My goal is too live compleatly out of my bus and primarly off the land. I am hopeing to relocate in the hills of North Carolina. I guess i am asking if anyone on here knows of anybody who lives in North Carolina that would have land and willing to make good use of it "$$$". I beleave that connections make the world go round. And on here we are really good with helping eachother out. Soo like i stated im not in any rush or emergency i am just looking for a future place to live.

Thanks again Skoolie community,

Mikey

Re: The Sloth

I need help deciding on a electrical conversion kit. My goal is to have the ability to charge my house battries off my engine and or solar panels. All i really need is to run my mini fridge a coffee maker and a small stereo. Also need enough power to run some power tools, but i justify unpluging some of the other appliences if need be. i have been looking at the Nole's package system from Rvsolarelectric.com but it seems like that would be a little overkill for what i need, also it is very expensive. I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas or other kits that they know of that would suit my needs better then the one i am looking at. I am open for all ideas and opinions.

Thanks,
Mikey

I like the carpet on the ceiling also. It looks like mine. I used spray glue. Somewhere on my thread there is some explanation of the process.

I used some bendable insulation and the put the carpet over that.

Someday I will paint the roof with that ceramic bead stuff that some people here have used. All of them have raved about how it really does a great job of keeping the heat out when it is sunny.

i did use liquid nails, i would put some on then throw some screw in to hold it in place wile it dried. I also am planning on painting the ceramic bead paint on my roof, i have noticed that every one has been doing that.

Re: The Sloth

Looks like the bottom bunk folk have quite a bit more headroom than the top bunk folk - am I seeing that right? I'll tell you one thing from experience, those bunks get a bit claustrophobic. I have mine equally spaced for top and bottom bunks and I still feel a bit "closed in"; so if your top bunk has even less space than my bunks... my skin is crawling just thinking about it. Of course maybe I have some "issues" with small spaces . Anyways, I'm just putting it out there for you to consider before you get too far into it - think carefully about the experience the top bed folk may have with so little space, and remember the mattress will make that space even smaller. I understand the reasoning being that you don't want to block the door, but still... it looks really tight up there!

Re: The Sloth

you're correct it is a very claustrophobic bunk more for storage than sleeping but a bed is a bed

Small spaces? --- Looks like Heaven compared to the average Navy berth! And I was on a carrier...not a sub.
