did that idler pulley make the belt drive seem smoother?
dont throw the old serp belt away, stash it in the bus.. just in case..!!!

The new pulley improved it a BIT, but she's got a new belt and tensioner on the way. The tensioner is pretty shot, IMO. I can almost de-tension it with my hand and it flops back and forth a LOT when the engine is runnng, so I told her it was worth it to get a new one while she's here and I can put it on for her. Cheap insurance, I think.
I always keep my old serp belt, too!

when the belt is worn the ternsioner gets really easy to move.. I also changed my tensioner when i did my cooling updates.. i also thought the spring seemed a bit weak. since thats a part shared with the ford, it isnt too expensive.. and you are right a good insurance to change it.. they are a known failure point like that idler.. good call on that.. I think Sandi could easily put as many miles on here bus.. (or more) than i do...

Yeah, IMO all she'll really need after this is a trans dump, spin on filter change, and refill. Her fluid color is ok, but not great and she's had a trans warning light once.

Didn't get most of the pics shaun took of the process, but we kept working as the day turned to night. Ended up finishing the windows using the van's high beams and shaun's phone flashlight.

How did you seal the panels?

I'm keeping most of my windows but there are two ovals by the rear escape window that I might delete.

The Trailer Doctor/Fab Shop has good prices on all the metals we need for our builds. Ocala is not too far from you is it?

Found this in a tiny house article:

Rich Missall, owner of The Trailer Doctor, sets up at the Ocala Downtown Market on Saturdays and specializes in metal work, fabrication, welding and all things trailer.

He recently partnered with professional architect Paul James of Design Source International, and they have drawn up plans for their first tiny home. With their combined expertise in design, fabrication and metal work, they plan to build custom tiny homes according to each client’s budget.

Yeah, well EVERYONE and their brother is doing that here in central FL.
I know 3 tiny house companies here in my town.
The single-wide trailer ghettos are filling up with these 100 sq ft shacks.

Went out today, got most of the rear of the bus done.

lots of rot!

getting the rubber and bumper trim out of the way-

Waiting on all the actual process pictures from shaun, but here's the rear after I paneled it over.

Dixie was super chill today. All this bus work has her tired, too, apparently!

IDk what's up with Dixie, she's not often seen napping while out and about!

Dixie appears bored, thinking you should all be out playing. Plus he's a little miffed you gave him a girl's name.

Dixie's a girl. And a 51 lb athlete! Dunno why I'd say "He". I'm now on my second cup of coffee.

Sandi's picking up the tensioner and belt. Tensioner has been updated, go figure.
