Well, it's been a little bit, but that's ok. I gave myself a somewhat realistic goal of 4 years for this project and I think I'm still on track...
I'm seeing some progress at least.

I've always wanted to cut the back end of a bus to make a porch that looked like the end of a old fashioned train car.

Very cool. I'm betting the inside resembles the back porch in decor. This window design carries over well to the train style curtains.

Interesting how they carried that frame extension up on the back porch.

Here are the source photos: thanks!

My wife said that if I had a flat-front bus and converted it to look like the parlor car, she wouldn't make me sell it (our current plan). But she suggested that I wouldn't live long enough to make the conversion. Sigh. So I'll content myself with Photoshop and hanging out with the cool kids on this forum.

Just do the same thing in real life that you did in PhotoShop. Get a Parlour car...chop the back off...and tack it onto a bus! What could be simpler?

I got your porch, without photoshop;

Something like this, only with a little more imagination and artistic skill.

Appears to be a simple extension.

That's it, buy a shorty then expand it.

Effective, but a little to basic.

Not sure this is balanced.

Nice, but to fancy is like lipstick on a...

The basic fishing porch/ramp.

Side porch.

Shade?

The basic essentials.

Honorable mention.

A greenhouse. Honorable mention.

Is that a hatchback?

Honorable mention for height.

Honorable mention for height, again.

Wood build one.

Wood build two.

Grandma's bus.

Grandma's trailer, mural.

Is this one of our colorful individuals? That looks ok with straps.

Dude! I hope he got paid for that.

Ok, no photoshop. Sorry, got off subject again.

LOL, you guys crack me up! In all seriousness, the lipstick on a pig bus is on my pinterest inspiration board. I don't think I'll get quite that gingerbread with it, but I would love to make a skoolie that thinks it's a gypsy wagon. I could totally work this onto the back of a bus, right?

That would be easy to trim out the rear of a bus like that. this one is mostly flat surfaces and a lot of painting. It would be easy to cut the side panels similarly. The artistic part may be just beyond my grasp though.

Misty, lost my connection the other day then couldn't find the thread when I got back online. Yes I have a cat that allows me to live here so apparently this is actually a cat house. She has adapted to the bus but it took a number of cans of tuna to make that happen. It was a ferril cat that I had been unable to make friends with until it nearly starved and froze to death. Then it decided I could help. Now I get in trouble if I change things. She won't ride in the bus at all. She has gotten used to the idea that when I take the house to town I often come back with new cat food. She got named Dumas, because it sounded similar but nicer than what I was calling her. She sets on the porch and growls when there's coyotes. Who needs a dog?
This is a dead end road in the mountains about 15 minutes out of town and it seems to be the spot where people drop off unwanted cats and dogs. Most domestic animals don't seem to last long here because we have cougar, so we affectionately call dropped off animals cougar snacks. Animals that are smart enough to last until they make friends usually end up with a home again. It's a jungle out here.

Professor Marvel? Yeah, I could see that!

Haha, now I'm picturing some fake wheels mounted on the side of the bus...

Work with that idea. Envision a paddle wheel on the side of the bus so you can park by a river and produce power. I can see it now, you'll be the first person to mill flour in a bus.
