We crush all cardboard in the cardboard baler as fast a possible. It keeps the debris down and the stores recycle the cardboard. So don't be surprised if you can't get a cardboard box from Home Depot. You will really need to be in the "right place at the right time".

Try furniture stores for cardboard as well.
.. well Lorna, y'all may do things a tad different than we do, not all stores are the same I am quite sure .. at my store (Lowe's) we unpack the daily deliveries every morning and we keep several freezer/refrig boxes beside the compactor to use as a top and bottom courses to hold the compacted bundles together .. we also save boxes for customers we know and/or who leave their contact information with the receiving manager .. we also use the larger boxes to save plastics and other recycle materials as well .. plenty of opportunity to pick up a couple "fresh" boxes ..

.. I'm sure some stores operate differently than mine .. but you can usually catch a good clean box before it hits the dumpster/compactor .. we don't make enough on the recycled bails that we can't help out a customer in need ..

I wasn't referring to Lowe's. I don't know how they work. Just the Home Depot I work at. They like to keep the trash from accumulating so that the store stays clean.

Re: Transmogrifie and Me

Weather got down to 10 degrees at night and high of 29-30 so have been doing a lot of 'in-house' stuff. Big indoor garage sale on the 26th.

Should be warmer next week to caulk and paint.

Water tank I wanted to see about getting is 'shape conformed' to it's original placement ie over the wheel well. Not sure I want it 'inside'. hmph

Guy brought me a sample of the green carpet he said he had. I liked it. only 10x12 but I can make it work.

Still planning on flooring and insulation in by mid February, guess I picked a bad time of year to start this project.

Re: Transmogrifie and Me

Put a heater inside and work inside when you can't work outside. Best way to do this is to have a pretty well thought out plan of what you want to do. Our exterior stuff is on hold until warmer temps are here. Meanwhile we are insulating the interior as fast as we can and getting that covered with "paneling". I'm used to living in sawdust. But the styrofoam beads from the Polyshield is driving me nuts (short trip). Not a whole lot more of that left. We also are finishing up the interior on the QT. We aren't too sure how happy the work would make the campground managers. We do a lot of materials cutting in the parking lot of the Home Depot where we are buying our stuff at. Gotta love those battery powered circular saws! Still we do a lot of cutting inside the bus.

Re: Transmogrifie and Me

Bus wouldn't start on Sunday. Turns but won't fire. Gonna put a super charge on the battery and get some starter fluid for next trip out there. My car buddies say it's just cold blooded. Crossing fingers there's no damage from 7 degree weather. Made a terrible noise near the dash until I realized that I had the back door open. Good warning system.

Got it washed out with vinegar and looks pretty good (Still found bubblegum). One more washing and I should be ready to caulk and paint interior on next warm day I have time. Indoor garage sale put off a week. Dog-sitting this week so can't be home evenings. $100.00 cha-ching. One thing and another. Took laptop and printer to dog location to make signage for garage sale. Still moving forward.

I am still pleased. Oh.. and bought a gnome, my first 'decoration' purchased specifically for the bus. Will post when I get a pic. Looks sort of like Jerry Garcia.

Re: Transmogrifie and Me

And here is my new buddy...

I couldn't resist. I think I'll encorporate him into the dash somehow.
