Re: Travelling Man
Very nice! Looks like a certain other bus that was on here for sale a little bit ago. I can't help but notice it is no longer in Arizona!

Re: Travelling Man
You're Welcome,
Yep, That's the bus alright. As originally stated all we did was put in fresh
batteries, started it right up, checked it out for safe travel and soundness
then drove it straight through 500 miles to new owners home. Absolutely
no issues. Las Vegas Truck Stop for fuel, on the road approaching Mesquite
NV. It averaged 70-75 road speed the whole way, up and down hills.
Awesome bus with a new lease on life and fine new owner.
No drama, just the facts. Professionally delivered.
Crown_Guy.

Re: Travelling Man
Thanks everyone, definitely excited to start putting work into this beauty--going to be at it for a while.
I'll try to post updates as time allows but rest assured, in the end this beast will retain the majority of what this coach's original look (at least exterior) brought some of us to love.

Re: Travelling Man
Updates?
Removed half of the factory installed A/C duct work and fixed some minor things I didn't think were repaired properly the first time by the school district:
Really needed better speakers to continue working:
...in order to cover them with original speaker grills I had to mount them from behind:
On to next post to continue attachments...

Re: Travelling Man
They're actually a pair of Sundanzer DC*50's; 12VDC ultra-efficient (and insulated) freezer and fridge (only difference is thermostat.) I wish they could each hold 5 cu ft but due to the design they're only about 1.8 cu ft per device. And I'll still keep a few coolers and a smaller 12VDC swing-arm compressor style portable fridge/freezer for that extra space.
After a bit of experimenting over the years for my intended use of such vehicles, I've pretty much decided not to use any type of propane, AC house unit, or building a conversion fridge/freezer again...
I need to be able to keep this thing unplugged.

Re: Travelling Man
@jmar896, yeah, seriously. Do it! I couldn't stand another moment of those Mobilpage 4" speakers trying to reproduce music while I worked on the bus. o.O

Re: Travelling Man
The original speakers are painful to listen to they are so bad. I am working on new speakers for my Crown conversion. I am thinking of setting them up as two different sets of speakers so I could have all my speakers going at once (I intend to have six) or just the back two in the bedroom area.

Re: Travelling Man
Absolutely horrible unless they're intended for yelling at misbehaved passengers. ;)
My bus had 14 holes cut for speakers and I ended up with 10 new replacements; 3 pair in the front and 2 pair in the back, wired in series+parallel for 2 channels.
My plan was to replace them all but two of the spots had support beams in the way, and the other two were occupied with AC high/lower pressure lines which I don't intend to remove. o.O
I thought about making two 'zones' and utilizing a standard 4 channel audio power source but I really just wanted to refurbish the stock system so I had something to listen to when I'm not using something else.

Re: Travelling Man
Temporarily mounted the inverter/charger (perfect inverter/charger for the job, got it for a nice price, and a bonus is that it ended up being factory re-built.)
Needed a place to sit and it takes up about as much room as what I want to build in the end...
...and partially mounted the replacement in-dash receiver in the original Crown spot:
