Re: ..
nobody offended me .. just turned into maintaining a thread that nobody was really reading .. Keeping up with multiple blog type items is hard to do when doing a conversion alone.. so am only going to keep the one that is the most active.

Re: ..
This isn't a blog. It's a place where you come to ask for information and where you tell folks what you are planning to do. And we can try to stop you before you hurt yourself OR we can tell you how to do it easier. You can also post what you discovered that you shouldn't have done. You can also change your mind about what you planned on doing (something we do all the time). You don't have to post here all the time or consistently.

So, asking for a thread to be deleted becomes fodder for smart comments? Geeze, NOBODY DID ANYTHING WRONG here .. well until I asked for it to be deleted .. then the rudeness started...

I found that posting pictures here was a bit of a pain. can't just upload them from my phone because they are too large.. so I have to upload them to my PC and then open them in a photo editor and resave.. sometimes without photos describing something is difficult. Then you can't upload more than 3 at a time.. and by then my patience with pictures has run out..
The facebook blog is www.facebook.com/sliceoflifeRv
Although I've renamed the bus to TRusty Bucket .. short for the rusty bucket, because I am dealing with what seems like endless rust issues and don't feel like I'm ever going to get them all patched.

Rust Repair #2, behind the drivers seat where the heater hoses come in .. virtually no viable floor left. I can't weld.. so I improvised..

Re: TRusty Bucket .. since the thread is not going away lol
There was also a hole in the side of the wheel well .. this is sizing some chicken wire to cover it.. I didn't end up using it .. I used adhesive auto body repair patch metal but wanted to show what it looked like. The other two pictures are of the bondo covering this hole.. I did add another coat of bondo but didn't take a picture of it.

Re: TRusty Bucket .. since the thread is not going away lol
And finally the patch in place for behind the driver seat.. Once I finished fixing this.. I started treating rust spots toward the back of the bus and found a worse rust issue on the rear wheel well .. this one had been patch poorly by the school.. when I cleaned that area the patch broke away and I saw what was under it... what a nightmare.
My question.. should I attempt to fix the back rust or is my approach all wrong and as such I should never attempt a patch again?

Re: TRusty Bucket .. since the thread is not going away lol
Bummer on all the rust ,I feel your pain --- When I picked up my shorty it appeared to have very minimal rust (to be almost 70 years old anyway). But once I started pulling things like the torpedo belt off, I found out the bad news and ended up having to replace all of the side panels, inside & out plus re-fab the wall spacers that connect the outer panels to the floor. The "good" news was that the floor itself, even around the wheel wells was rock solid. Still have a couple of more tricky pieces to completely rebuild, but hey...it keeps me busy.

Do you think that front rust repair job I did will pass safety inspection?

1. I never "left" the site
2. I'm a she
3. I can't help your confusion, not my fault. Sometimes meaning doesn't really translate well from the typed word to the brain.. actually that part might be my fault.
I'm an old lady taking on a HUGE bus project, I would rather spend more time on the bus than on posts.
I value the knowledge in this group a lot, I really didn't mean to send folks arms a flailing by asking that the thread be deleted lol.

Re: TRusty Bucket .. since the thread is not going away lol
If photo posting is what kicking your rear-end, we can walk you through the easy/faster way to deal with pics. This is exactly why I asked what the problem was and why you wanted to bail out. There is a simple solution and we can enjoy your presence and learn from your bus conversion as well.
Simple pic posting:
Since you are sending them to FB anyway we can work from that group.
After you upload all your pics to FB open 1 up and right click it. Choose "Copy Image URL"
Now over to Skoolie.net and start a post. Do you see those little buttons above the text box? Start with B i u...?
Good! now hit the button that says "Img" you will see [ img ][ /img ] appear with the blinkie cursor between them. press and hold the ctrl key and hit v.
It should have put a long string like this ( https://scontent-b-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/...13&oe=54F76174) between the img bits. if you want to see the pic hit the preview button below and Bob's your uncle!
I hope this helps save you some time and effort!
