Re: Yet another "is this a good deal" thread

Yeah, that's kinda how I'm thinking. I can think of way worse ways of pissing away money than buying buses!
I hope you understand that I wasn't trying to be too pushy or anything. I'm just very opinionated at times, especially if asked for an opinion!

No worries! I came here asking for opinions. Honesty is exactly what I was seeking! As the saying goes, "there's an ass for every seat". It looks like my ass (or my seat?) is a bit more expensive than yours, that's all.

That's funny.
Cheers, enjoy the bus and may it provide you lots of happy, trouble-free miles.

Just heard back. 9400 hrs.

And just found out the gear ratio in the back. It's an unsurprising 5.63:1

That's a high amount of hours.
I don't know much about the 3060 as its got a "brain", but the rear ratio sounds like it wouldn't be fun out on the highway.

Yeah, the hours certainly are on the high end. By my calc, it looks like with that gear ratio on the 3060, I'm maxing out at 67mph in 5th gear and 78 in 6th (after I get it unlocked).

Hell that's plenty quick. I get 62-65 max.
I just have to share this one, I know you won't like the FE part, but this one I would be all over if I didn't already have a huge project on my hands.

Here is a member on this forum who says he may be selling a rear engine Crown Supercoach II.viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6351

And since you don't mind paying retail- here's a nice looking bus on ebay. Clean TX bus. Cummins 8.3.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-Thomas-Saf ... 1446154745

Re: Yet another "is this a good deal" thread

No headroom there.

I did find an AmTran RE. He wants $6800 but I presume that's negotiable (isn't everything?).

1999 International AmTran RE
84 Passenger
DT466E 230HP/660lb*ft
MD3060 CR (Not sure what the C is, but the R's retarder, no?)
Air brakes
78" Headroom
105 Gallon tank
Cruise Control
Rear air suspension
Another AZ bus - so rust free.
Miles ~202k, not sure about the hours.
