ZombiePatrol Bus Conversion

We are vlogging our conversion. First video we will have in a couple of days. We are just learning as we go. We found an awesome template on youtube for Photoshop. We will be making use of this in the coming weeks!

As per our intro thread our bus is: 1988 GMC Detroit 8.2L Diesel. It is 29.5 ft so we are starting with less than 24 feet of interior to work with. We are removing seats, and everything is coming out fine after learning how to use channel locks!

Forget Photoshop ... you would love Google SketchUp. It's free and you can model in 3D.

Yea Sketchup is nice but quite the learning curve to be sure..... I did spend some time playing around with it tonight... but seemed like I would never be able to get a mockup of my bus made in it..... but then I started looking around in the 3D warehouse and found this....

Not a perfect match for Jasmine but close enough, the interior length and width match up, within a very small amount, of what I estimated. I've already removed the seats from the model... would that the real ones would come out that easy but I digress... hopefully I can figure out some more in the next few days and come up with a reasonably close mockup.

As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he accompanied the level 60 dwarves on the Smaug the Dragon raid. Those powerlevelers probably invited him solely so he could trigger fellowship attacks for them.

I would like to give google sketch a go.

Here is a pic of the seats out finally. Had to grind them down but it went surprisingly quick. Started taking rubber flooring up, and then need to get some of the rust off. We are trying to decide how to clamp off the heater, so that will be next in line as well.

The heater is out, now to deal with the tubing. Next the last 1/4 of flooring will be taken out. Then, the rivets for the ceiling. I think we will attempt to drill them out. We are still dealing with rubber flooring beneath the driver seat that must come out too. It has had water trapped beneath it. Not sure if we will be able to remove the electrical box at the front for that or not.

if I remember right in that year you can take the lower heater box out and leave the electrical box on the wall.. its been awhile since I had that nice setup... my newer bird has the newer set-up which I dont dig.. but I think once you take that heater out you can get the floor out from underneath it.. dont destroy it.. you will want that heater its your front heat and defrost.. you will want to refurbish and put it back in.

We ended up using Photo Shop for our floor plan, due to ease of use and ability to have three layers. One for the main floor, one for the above head storage, and one for the underpinning storage. We still need to modify this a bit and figure out where to store our batteries for solar power. We have done a few videos so far, which we will post after we get them uploaded to youtube. Right now most are just on FB.

We are doing insulation right now, and the sides are completely finished. Seven windows have been removed and replaced with sheet metal and insulation. The entire inside was primed for waterproofing and protection of the metal, and even the driver's cabin had a nice paint job overhaul
