Re: Adding photos into posts??

Ok first you select "link to this Photo in Picasa

then you select the size you want to display

then copy what is displayed in the "embed image" field

go to tSkoolie.net and open your reply to post window, click on the IMG button on the top bar and then Paste the link in between the "[img][/img"

remove everything after the .JPG make sure at the end it still has the [/img]

do the same in front of the http:// leave only the [img]

so that all what you have left is something like this

then click on Preview and see how your post will look like

something like this

If you did all this and it still does not work, then my guess is that you didnt make your picture album "public" on Picasa and hence no one except you can see the picture. there might be quicker ways to do this but it works for me, someone else might have some other suggestions.

Re: Adding photos into posts??

Here's how I swipe pictures from alot of sites...

Right click on the picture itself, then View Picture. It should show you just the picture by itself.

Copy the address for the picture from the address bar: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_RHXEjwqbx7Y/SgLLp ... 0_7405.JPG

Now you can just paste that address into the forums using the IMG button and it should work.

Re: Adding photos into posts??

Sojakai that works for other sites but not for Picasa webalbums, at least not for me.
Any other site you can just right click the picture and choose properties and then copy and paste the URL. But somehow on Picasa it will not let you do that.

Re: Adding photos into posts??

yeah, I see what you mean... that is odd.

Its sorta working with Picasa, but when I reload the page after about 15minutes of letting it sit, the pic disappears.

Too much trouble just to post a simple picture. I just wanted to show what I was working on or talking about without having to direct people to the photo gallery. That's probably no big deal for the old hands, but wanted it to be easy for newer folks until they got used to the site.

Wanted to be able to do it forever for folks like Smitty though!!
except right clicking on your red x and choose view picture will not show the picture, only if you right click -> properties -> and then copy and past the url in to the address bar can people see your pictures. To much work for me.....

Re: Adding photos into posts??

dam you.... an other photobucket guy.......i hate those....Flicker, Photobucket....pain in the but, cause i can not see them when at work due to networkrestrictions. However, whatever works for you i guess. Yes it does work like that.
Now you just have to learn how to resize pictures so they are not to big for poor people that are still on dialup lines.
posted this before but i guess it wont hurt to poste it again

Quote:
Tip for future pictures, resize them to about 640x480 and reduce the resolution that they can be viewed by people on dial up too. In case you dont know how to do that or dont have the right program download irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/ free little program which does batch conversions.
Open irfanview choose the file drop down menu and choose batch conversion / rename. Browse for the folder that hold your pictures and add all or selected pictures. Choose advanced options and set a % of original, and in the options panel set the slider to about 50. Choose a output folder and click start.
Now you should have all your pictures nicely sized for internet use. Less time for you to upload them, less time and scrolling for people trying to look at your pictures.
