Consolidated Reference Material?

I've got to say guys, these boards represent such an incredibly valuable body of knowledge, experience and how tos. If it weren't for this resource I'd probably just abandon the idea of doing a conversion.

That said, I don't want anyone thinking I am bashing or bitching here, but I've got an idea that I think would help everyone who uses the boards, from newbies like me to the veterans.

The only problem I see with the forums is that the information is dispersed amongst so many threads.

Could a new section be created for reference materials? Ideally it would have a couple of posts pinned at the top for some "cheat sheets".

For example, a table listing all the different body/chassis combos available and their internal/external dimensions, weights, stock GVW etc, suspension rating, etc

And maybe another table listing the most common engines, trannys and drivetrain combos with some basic facts about each.

These are the first 2 things that come to mind for me because I am still bus shopping and those 2 posts would be *extremely* helpful, but I've got to think there are other bodies of data that could be consolidated the same way. Common materials or items that we are all going to be in the market for sooner or later such as insulation, generators, woodstoves, solar panels, chargers, batteries, 12v water pumps, rv toilets, etc.

And this doesn't have to even become one person's full time project, if the empty tables were posted with a couple of rows populated as examples, I bet folks would contribute with what they know.

(with any luck this has already been done and I am just a momo and haven't found them yet )

This is a great idea although a substantial undertaking. We'll mull over how we might be able to implement something like this.

The shear amount of work is why it has not been done yet.

When my bus is done, I will be doing a pile of "How to Threads"
