Social Knowledge support

All of a sudden I'm getting a response from some site called Social knowledge support when I respond to a posting. It even requires a log in. What is this? is it spam or a virus?

Social Knowledge is who owns the site.
Seems odd that they'd email you, though.

Is it popping up when viewing the forum or trying to redirect you by high jacking your browser?

I get redirects all the time, even when I'm not even close to my device. Advertising comes from all directions and there is no add blocker that will stop them. I even get adds in my pull down menus.

I wanted to ask some of you guys if you ever get advertising related to whatever you're talking about in your own home? Even without my device being active, conversations in my home are reflected in the advertising I receive. If advertising can do this, you know big brother is doing it.

PureVPN blocks pop ups, malware, viruses, and hides your location and IP, WHILE being encrypted. I have not had a single issue since starting with their service. For under $2 a month and great reviews I couldnt NOT try it. And I LOVE it.

That would be worth it for getting rid of the advertising alone.

You know, just the other day there was a thread on here asking if anyone had a vpn because it was messing with this site? Some kind of conflict.

On my linux laptop, I run Firefox or chrome browsers with adblockplus and I rarely see an ad and I never get pop ups. I don't use my phone for forum stuff.

I'm on an android pad. It seems I have to put up with all the harrasment advertising, which also steals from my download allowance.

I was considering the VPN until this site had issues with it.

It sure is a pain to install AdBlock on every device, etc. so I just do it at point of entry.

I use a Router- Asus - that runs Open Source firmware- Tomato. I setup the router to download a few fresh blacklists daily and block those from all the devices on the local network.

Tomato will take a $80 router and turn it into a $600 one, provided you know what you are up to.

Here are a bunch you can use:

https://zeltser.com/malicious-ip-blocklists/

Several organizations maintain and publish blocklists (a.k.a blacklists) of IP addresses and URLs of systems and networks suspected in malicious activities on-line. Many of these lists are available for free; some have usage restrictions:

Artists Against 419: Free; lists fraudulent websites
ATLAS from Arbor Networks: Free; registration required by contacting Arbor
Blackweb Project: Free; optimized for Squid
CLEAN-MX Realtime Database: Free; XML output available
CriticalStack Intel Marketplace: Free; registration required; optimized for Bro

DShield Blocklist: Free
FireHOL IP Lists: Free; combines several blacklists from other sources
Google Safe Browsing API: Free; programmatic access; restrictions apply
hpHosts File: Free; limited automation on request
Malc0de Database: Free
Malware Domain Blocklist: Free for non-commercial use
MalwareDomainList.com Hosts List: Free
Malware Patrol’s Malware Block Lists: Free for non-commercial use
MalwareURL List: Commercial service; free licensing options may be available
OpenPhish: Phishing sites; free for non-commercial use
PhishTank Phish Archive: Free; query database via API

I read this forum on Tapatalk app on my iPhone and iPad Pro. Never any issues and way easier to upload photos. I am actually on my laptop right now, but besides the annoying ads to the right, nothing pops up.
And yes, I have had ads come up after discussing something in my home. It freaks me out, but what to do?
