Someone can post with my user name

I am the real Bluespoet on here, but someone is able to post with my user name and doesn't represent my views, I will be resigning out of skoolies tomorrow and then signing in with a different user name, so after tomorrow, you will know that who ever calls themself bluespoet is a counterfeit

Let the admins know, this is a security issue.

However, looking through the member list it only shows one user with your username.

School Bus Conversion Resources - Members List

Can you link to the posts where they are using your username from another account? This is a bit interesting, vBulletin is usually a darn good platform security-wise, and may warrant the admins contacting the developers.

Ah, no need to ditch your account then.

Let the admins know about it, and which of your posts were not made by you. Then, change your password to something very different. Next time the other person thats using your old password tries to login, they will be denied.

Also a good idea to check if your email is compromised as well, may want to change that password as well.

That's right: if you believe your account is being used without authorization, then opening a new account doesn't fix the problem. The problem may well follow you into the new account, too. Instead, figure out what's really going on. Here's a short list of things that could contribute to an unauthorized person posting with your account:
  • weak password
  • compromised password
  • using the site from a public device (computer in the library etc), especially if "keep me logged in" is enabled

Its weird that they would even post about buses and not just spam us with porn or pepe or something.

Just for the record...I have had the same thing happen a couple of times. An innocuous post that was on topic with my name & avatar...but it was NOT posted by me (?)

Kinda like post number 1245 in this thread- http://www.skoolie.net/forums/f11/ro...-9771-125.html

That's Sandi's account but I highly doubt Sandi posted that.
It was a bus related post but impersonal and off topic.
Someone's hacked some accounts most likely.

Could be sessions getting crossed. For example, output caching, which can result in sending someone else's SessionId to the wrong person.

That's more likely. I highly doubt someone has your password and is posting as you. It's likely an internal forum issue. Somebody has some wires crossed somewhere.

Hi - Have you considered updating your login info? A password reset is a simple thing and can protect your account. Can you point me to posts that you think are made by an imposter?

Aye, because this site uses unsecured http it's quite trivial to post as someone else. It's why I'm not here very often, and only occasionally check in. But the good news is that they are thinking about trying to migrate to something better.

I never said someone was posting as me or has my password. Perhaps, you meant this for BluesPoet? I just mentioned that it is possible there were crossed session ID's.
