Re: 120/240V household water heater installed and working

Here is a cheap and easy Automatic voltage selection. The relay (contactor) should have 30 amp contacts with a coil voltage for 208-240. Connect the shore power neutral to the Normally Closed contact/ Normally open to the one of the Hots. Shore power should be from a 30 amp DP circuit breaker. If you use a DPDT relay the extra contacts could be used for an indicator light.

Re: 120/240V household water heater installed and working

I know...shame on me...it did work tho'...I forgot and turned it on Friday and on Sunday I was like CRAP....bus was still there and there was hot water, as for recovery...dunno...because I turned it off

After this last trip, I plan to install a tube/shower so if mother nature works with me..I will have some numbers

It does work...just not sure if its "usable" it has to be better than a 6gallon one, just due to mass of water...ugh right

Nat had a good suggestion on this, Install a 240v water heater change out one of the heater coils to 12v to run off your battery bank so it would heat while driving, problem is I've been online searching & haven't been able to find a 240v water heater in the 10 to 20 gallon range.
