12V electrical to house and start batteries

Can someone explain to me in layman's terms how to wire a bus to run off batteries other than your starting batteries. I have the bus wired now to hook up to a land line from the house, generator or campground using a 30 amp hook up. It would be nice to run off a couple extra batteries that would charge while driving without discharging my starting batteries but would run everything on the bus mainly a tav and a few lights. I know I would need an inverter but how would I hook that up with my existing breaker panel to do this? I just hate having to run the generator all day at tailgates. Thanks

you need to design your electrical system by figuring how much you are gonna use while tailgating.....then times it by a bunch.


list out your appliances and the hours you want to run them....

then build a battery bank big enough
120v appliances will need an inverter and gets fancy... but anything is doable
