Bidding on this transit bus. Will not go very high on it in order to have money left over for an engine rebuild.

I would plan on having the tanks inside. Any thoughts?

If you can get it for $1000, you could part it out for a profit. It looks in great shape for almost 700K miles. That you know it will require costly repairs is a plus. Good luck on your decision.

Lostranger has a Gillig low-floor that he is putting tanks inside. (There really isn't any other space you could put them in a low-floor bus!) You mention rebuilding the engine - why? What would however make me think carefully about buying this bus is its Voith transmission - it's not that they're bad, but parts and servicing may be less easy to find or more costly in this country compared to an Allison's.

Found a video of the exact bus I am bidding on. This is a high floor version.

I asked for and received the service records for the last five years. All 91 pages! After going through those and finding reoccurring problems I bowed out at $1000. Not worth it to me to be trying to trouble shoot that Voith transmission.
