Ha,,, has anybody put a 2 speed rearend in a bus with a automatic trans ????? i heard that it can be done. and u would get better mileage. low speed around town and high speed for the hiway. My greaning is 478 in b/b
the rear axle isn't going to know if the transmission is an automatic or a standard transmission... just let off on the gas when you shift the rear axle.
Get one out of a truck at the scrap yard that has the same brakes as yours. Then all you gotta do is maybe adjust the driveshaft a bit n hook up the lines.

I agree with Chev49, however the truck shop here in St Louis said "can't be done with an Automatic" Did you end up putting a 2 speed in? if so how does it work?
