3" HBF Grinder ?

Hello, I want to cut through the outside metal wall on my bus. Is the Harbor Freight 3" grinder up to it or do i need the 4"? thanks.

just the skin or the ribs?

Regardless, I'd go for an angle grinder that can take the 4.5" discs.

I suggest buying the highest-quality item if it's from Harbor Fright. I think their cheapos are essentially expendable, but their better-grade items seem to be OK. I've bought their "magnesium" 1/2" drill and it worked just fine (until someone stole it . . .), and whatever their best 4.5" angle grinder was at the time, which is still working well after several years of fairly hard use. One thing I always do to anything from HF with gears is to apply more grease before using it the first time - the Chinese are too parsimonious with their stinky brown grease, so a good dollop of better grease should prolong its life.

Just the skin. I want to cut out a rectangle for a electrical box. I already have the 3".

Then use the 3".

i'd still go with the 4.5" i find that even with the 4.5" that i will come into a spot thati cant get to unless i have a full disc. if you just get the 3" you may only be able to cut in certain spots and then the grinder gets in the way. 4.5" grinders are very common and not that much more.

I finally killed my hitachi. I've had it for at least 12 years and 3 buses. Dropped it while using it and I was up on top of the bus. It didn't survive.
Gona replace it with a cheapo HF one, most likely. they're only $12-$15.
